OOTD – Bag Shopping

I neglected to blog AT ALL yesterday but I promise I had a good reason, I finally bought the bag from Louis Vuitton that’s been on my wishlist forever and I was a little sidetracked.. apologies! If you want a little preview of the bag as well as a few more pictures form our little shopping trip you can check out this ‘snapshot’ post on my Life Of Khi blog but I will of course be treating my newest baby to a reveal post of its own here very soon.. as well as a possible video.. I’m not sure how well received that would be though. Anyway.. I thought I would share my outfit of the day with you, someone did point out on Instagram that I was dressed to match the bag I was buying and that was indeed intentional.. I just didn’t expect anyone to notice, haha!

*What I’m Wearing*

Top/H&M   Jeans/Topshop   Boots/Next   Watch/Michael Kors   Necklace/Tiffany

I even blew my hair out specially.. I mean you can’t just walk in to Louis Vuitton, right? I was genuinely concerned I may not dare walk in at all.. I’m not a designer person and if I’m honest I’ve always considered a recognisable ‘status’ bag to be the key to places like this. I feel like I could now walk in to Chanel or Dior and look around without them thinking I’m some pauper.. it’s all Pretty Woman’s fault, I’m sure! Like I said I will do a write up on the bag itself with lots of pictures etc but my first impressions.. it doesn’t feel expensive, I didn’t expect it to as it’s made of coated canvas and treated leather so it’s the most durable bag I own which is great as I will get lots of use out of it and I don’t have to worry about spillages or weather but you can definitely get something that feels more luxurious for the money. I think I just so wanted the bag that I’d built it up so much in my mind over the years and it was a slight anti-climax when I held it in my hands but I still love it and I hear that the canvas does soften up over time as it wears. Either way I’m really happy I got it, I just thought it was worth noting for any of you that are considering a purchase since I started talking about it, the quality of be Rebecca Minkoff MAC Daddy bag is far superior and it was almost £400 cheaper.. just sayin’

On a side note – I can’t wait to tote it around Vegas next year and pretend to be posh 😉

Ooh I can’t wait to see it! I get what you mean though, I suppose like most things we build up in our head they’re never quite as amazing in real life. But when you start using it and it’s not as brand new it’ll feel more like yours and you’ll love it! I find decent bags get nicer as they age anyway xxx

hey Khila, I was wondering whether you had any issues with your Louis bag not having a zip closure? I’ve been *this* close to buying one for months but the fact it doesn’t have a zip is off putting! I keep going around in circles about whether to buy it or not! x

Not at all.. You can cinch the sides if you’re in a crowded area or so etching but I never worry about it. Do t regret the purchase at all
