Pink Power Suit - The Grace & Frankie Effect

This is so bizarrely timed since the new series of Grace & Frankie is released on Netflix today. I wish I could tell you I really had my sh*t together and it was planned that way but in reality, I've only just started to feel well since my New Year 'flu' incident and so the stars mystically aligned to bring us here together today.A few months ago, while stalking June Diane Raphael's instagram account - and subsequently each female cast member of G&F - I noticed a pattern. A pink suit pattern. I became obsessed, each of these (very different) women looked fabulous in their own variation and I simply had to have one of my own. With my birthday just around the corner I decided it would be my 'birthday suit' (mmm..) and all I needed to do was find one. Turns out.. it wasn't that easy. There are SO many colours of pink and I am not so much in to the Barbie shade that seems popular right now. This bright magenta version I found from Oasis (via ASOS) is the closest I've found and since it was in the sale I snapped it up but the crepe material isn't really doing it for me in the jacket. I think I want something sturdier.. but then the trousers will likely not be as flattering as these.. oh the dilemmas!H&M actually did a fabulous red suit at Christmas that sold out super fast. The blazer was double breasted and perfectly tailored.. I will be holding out hope that they bring that back in more colours!

Anyway.. all this is simply to say, I've fallen in love with the power suit, pink or otherwise and that seemed like as good a topic as any to launch me back in to my blog now the fog has lifted. Now as soon as I'm back from school drop off I will be settling in for a Grace & Frankie marathon.. who's with me?
