This outfit was entirely inspired by by new hair colour. It’s nothing major so don’t freak out (I’ve already have my lectures on instagram don’t worry!) but it’s now a very subtle lavender/blonde. I basically achieved the colour by leaving on my Lee Stafford toning treatment for longer than usual so it will fade to my regular shade within a wash or two and for someone who likes to switch it up occasionally it’s a great way to add a wash of colour without the commitment. My family (all but for my husband who knows what’s good for him) all hate it so feel free to feel the same way but I like it and it’s just a bit of fun. I’ll have a post on it next week once i know how long it takes to fade etc.
This beautiful mini bag is a new addition to my collection thanks to my friend Caz who brought it back for me as a gift from her recent US vacay. She found a Kate Spade outlet and went pretty wild.. I can’t wait to see everything she got but in the meantime am massively grateful she thought of me. Purple is my favourite colour and this vibrant blue tone is so me. I wasn’t sure how much I’d fit in the bag but without my purse I got in all of the essentials – makeup, cards, money, phone etc. More of an evening bag though for sure. The shoes were another major influence of the outfit as I have had them since January and never worn them. They always feel too dressy but I put them on and was determined to wear them out yesterday. I thought they added a little something to this otherwise basic outfit and I DO love them to look at but just wearing them for these photos and to film the OOTD video (here – link – and below) was so painful I had to change them before I left. My feet just ACHED wearing them. I’ve tried to wear them around the house over the past few months to avoid that ache so I’m now nervous that they will just be too hurty to ever wear. We shall see but they are so pretty I can make my peace with them being purely ornamental.
Since it’s the 31st this will be my last Summer OOTD, I am SO looking forward to the autumnal shades and you will likely see more outfits than ever from me as I love to dress for the colder weather but it’s nice to play with pastels and candy colours while they’re in season. Not sure the lavender hair will work so well with the khaki and oxblood I love to wear so I will likely let it fade away for a while.. but I can’t promise I wont try something else! 😉
