Real Techniques Powder Brush

IMG_2024I have a lot of makeup brushes, all of which need washing at all times but my favourite brush that needs washing right now is the Real Techniques Powder Brush. I bought this while shopping with Laura recently who totally talked me in to it. I don’t remember if she said she’d heard about it or read a review, I forget but the upshot was that it was entirely necessary so we were both buying it. I honestly didn’t think I’d love it for powder, it looked way too dense and although I’m oily I don’t like to over-powder. I thought it might be good for less precise bronzer or even mineral foundation but I really didn’t think I’d use it lots.. I was wrong. It’s totally amazing, so soft! I HAVE found that it works better with a powder with colour rather than a translucent/mattifier type as that can look a little too powdery but used with the right products – I’m in love! I’ve been slowly trying to gather together my best combination of long wearing makeup products for those occasions when I will be out for a 12 hour+ stint and my Bourjois Healthy Mix powder applied with this is awesome not only to set my makeup at 1am but also to touch up throughout the day.

I’m not sure Real Techniques have made a brush I don’t love but for those of you who weren’t interested in this one for the same reasons as me.. think again! Also just a note for you not so oily girls, Laura has much drier, sensitive skin and she loves it for a totally different set of reasons.. it’s a must have for ALL!

I use the blush brush for powder now. I did use the powder brush at first but I found it wasn’t as good at getting around my eyes or the sides of my nose.

What would we do without Real Techniques…I love how they have made a affordable, good quality brush collection possible to average women! When I wash my brush collection my boyfriend’s eyes get big and I think he is absolutely mystified, lol…
I’ve been using this powder brush for my bronzer lately – it gives me a nice, all over glow and doesn’t deposit too much leaving me looking clownish which is always a positive.

I have super dry skin and find this is one of the best brush for applying powder. Just wish it didn’t take so long to dry after washing!
