Until recently I’d tried very little from Revlon, it’s a more expensive drugstore brand and in truth it was their prices that out me off. I loved my Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes and wasn’t convinced I’d find anything of comparable quality for cheaper.. I’m not saying I have with this quad but it far surpassed my expectations.
The palest colour is a lovely base and has an almost iridescent shimmer to it. The mossy green is slowly edging out my Sumptuous Olive from MAC, it’s a little ‘dirtier’ and has a more obvious golden glitter running through it but the colour pay off is great and it’s a fraction of the price. The amber/bronze shade is the neglected colour in this palette for me as I tend to dip in to the green more and I’m not super keen on the autumnal contrast on my eyes.. these copper tones lend themselves better to blue eyes in my opinion. Lastly we have the deep brown which is just fantastic for a matte formula at this price point.. matte is difficult (easier with darker shades but still) and they’ve done it so well that I would definitely seek out the finish from Revlon again.
It’s the perfect Autumn palette, great colour selection and it has a nice base/highlight colour as well as a dark enough shade to deepen up the look. So often I find quads have such similar shades and no real pigmentation and so no matter how you apply them they all blur into one and other and create this kind of blah look, this is great and of the colour combinations available I’d definitely recommend it.
