Revlon Gel Envy

IMG_2063

This is one of the most exciting releases in a while (for a nail junkie like me) and shocker.. it’s from Revlon. I don’t know what it is, their products never seem to be super new or revolutionary but something about them.. they just get me, y’know? I’m a huge Seche Vite fan and those of you who’ve used it will know it gives THE glossiest, longest wearing finish so anytime a brand brings out anything that claims to be gel-like I do a little jump for joy. Thus far none have impressed me but these seem different. First of all the formula is super opaque, you could probably risk just one coat (I always do 2) and although it’s thick I find it easy to control/apply with the wide brush supplied. I did still wear a topcoat as I feel it extends wear time regardless of the polish quality but I did find these to be reasonably chip resistant.. not the best but not the worst.

This line has launched BIG with 27 shades in a multitude of finishes, all with Vegas/gambling related name – right up my street – from Ace Of Spades to Jackpot.. very cute touch that will ensure I NEED to buy several.. JUST for the name.. don’t tell me you haven’t done that.. I KNOW you have! The most exciting launch with this range is the new top coat, I haven’t tried it yet but I’m pinning all of my hopes that it will a Seche Vite dupe.. it’s not really any cheaper but it’s nice to have an alternative.. plus you never know.. it could EVER be better!! – thought I can’t imagine how.

The shades I have are Royal Flush (pink) and Dealers Choice (blue/green) and the whole range is now available on Boots website priced £6.99 each. Not super cheap for a drugstore polish but very nice and I’d recommend you all pick up at least one.. with the cute name of your choosing of course 😉

These look lovely! Gel style nail polish is usually so much glossier and long wearing than regular nail enamel. I really like the themed names, it’s a nice touch and the top coat sounds like it has a lot of potential to be really good 🙂

That is such a cute theme! I can’t blame you for wanting to buy them for the name alone. Will give them a look-at!

Those are really pretty, I actually like the two colors together, they contrast well. I’ll definitely be picking some up! Thanks for sharing these!

Did you use the Revlon gel envy top coat as this is required to complete the system. The magic is in the combo of their own polish and sunlight sensitive UV top coat. It is similar to the idea with vinylux. However I am waiting to pick mine up and try tomorrow.
