Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAA new lipstick launch from Revlon is always a bit exciting, they tend to make products I like in packaging I love so I knew I would eventually have to pick a few up for review from the new Ultra HD range. I was in Boots at the weekend trying to top up my basket to the threshold spend (you point collectors know where I’m at) and 3 for 2 was on so.. here we are. Predictably I chose 3 pink shades however in my defense I expected the third (Orchid) to be a brighter purple shade and it really isn’t at all. All very samey choices as usual.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERATop – Bottom – Peony, Hyrdangea, Orchid.

The formula’s are consistent, glossy and comfortable, more like an opaque lip gloss than a lipstick really. They remind me a lot of the lip butters only not quite as balmy and even the pale shades seem to have the same level of pigmentation in this line. I’m really not sure about them but it’s just person preference really. I’m not a big fan of glossy lipsticks and these are a little patchy/sheer for my liking but for those who prefer a glossy finish. I expected them to be just POW lipsticks.. worlds worst description, I know it’s what I thought when I saw the ad, really bold, saturated colour. I think that’s why I’m disappointed. Maybe over a liner I could achieve that but as a stand alone I don’t think they’re for me, nice colours but not quite what I expected from ‘Ultra HD’ lipsticks. Have you tried these? What did you think?

These are pretty but they look very similar in pigmentation to the lip butters. I just don’t see anything special about them?

It’s a shame about these, they are really pretty shades but I agree with you they’re arent ultra HD in anyway!

I must admit, this is not the kind of lipstick I was expecting with the name ‘Ultra HD’. I agree – sheer and glossy is just not my thing. Think I will give these a miss.

It’s such a shame as others have mentioned. I had such high hopes for revlons new launch. Normally they bring out such different and out there products it draws me in. These seem like little money makers they’ve just boshed out for the hell of it. Strange. Ahh well maybe next time!

I purchased Hibiscus which on the stick looked a gorgeous coral colour, but I found it was really cakey on and looked awful.

Great review!! I was excited to try these but if they aren’t more pigmented then the lip butters, I’ll stick with the butters (more moisturizing). Pretty colours though!

The shade Dahlia in this range really appeals to me, it’s a dark, brownish brick red. But I’m just not convinced by the formula… the reviews on these seem to be fairly unanimous but it’s always useful to hear what you think!

They are really lovely colours but I had sort of assumed from the name that they would have some kind of plumping superpower! Are they longwearing? X

I bought Two of these a few weeks ago in superdrug.I had change from a voucher in John Lewis after buying a Bobbi Brown Glitter lipstick (impressed).I’m not impressed with these revlon lipsticks and will not wear these much at all.I blot so they look like a stain instead.

Hey there this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code
with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how
so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience.
Any help would be enormously appreciated!

Feels like a wet rag sitting on your lips. I bought the Peony color, and I was very disappointed. It looked like I wasn’t even wearing lipstick but when I took it off with a kleenex I did see the color on the kleenex. I think something is wrong with the formula. I thought with their description that I was getting a pigmented lipstick. I prefer their their regular lipsticks which are normal nice lipsticks. I think they discontinued this line recently anyway.
