Revolution Pro Supreme Lipsticks / SWATCHED

So there are no prizes for guessing which brand Revolution drew their inspiration from for their pro launch, are there? The Supreme lipsticks (of which there are THIRTY shades) are very reminiscent of the Nars Audacious bullets and they’ve launched a liquid lip that’s similar (in every way) to the Nars Powermatte I love so much. I mean.. if they can get somewhere near the expensive formula on a budget then great but the question is, can they?

On the this occasion, I’d say no. Revolution are fantastic at a great many things but unfortunately lipsticks tend not to make that cut. There are some fab ones here but they’re inconsistent and I’d be hesitant to recommend the range as a whole because I know that some are just so much better than others. Rebellious and Conqueror are fab so if you’re feeling those colours, have at it! Controversy is almost up there with the Nars ones I love for texture and the colour is (as the kids say) FIRE but they are not all created equal and shades like Attraction & Contention really let them down. I even pulled out a lip brush for these snaps and really tried to build them up to the most opaque finish I could. Every one of them would benefit from a liner.

Overall I’d say go in to a store and swatch them. The ones that are good are great but it’s very hit and miss and £5 is only cheap if you’re actually going to use the product!

Available online here (at your own risk 😉)

and now for the close ups.. (I airbrushed my skin a touch, can I live? 😂)

They are really pretty colours but they do look patchy/streaky on the lips. The only lipsticks I’ve gotten on well with from Revolution were the matte ones from their Iconic range, but I think they’ve been discontinued.
    Thank you for being honest.
