Rimmel Kate 101

IMG_9716

Can you believe this is the first lipstick that I bought from the Kate Moss for Rimmel range? I know, I can’t either but as  with many massive launches I think what is likely is that I heard so much about them I was bored of them before they were even available to buy. I believe this is the second range she did with them and that the red tubes are matte formulas however I didn’t think there was much matte about this so although that’s what it looks like from my little google researching I’m not convinced. The colour I love, I’m very in to these mid tone pinks as it is but especially since I went lighter with my hair – loving it. The texture is really odd, unlike anything else I can think of, very thin and initially sheer, I built it up to an almost opaque as you see in the pictures below but it’s not what I expected from a matte lipstick at all and I don’t know if I’m keen on it

Overall I’m not sure if I’d buy more from this range and I’m not kicking myself for taking so long to buy this one. The shade range is great, a capsule collection in theory however I felt like the texture was almost a hybrid gone wrong – I think they were aiming for what Revlon achieved with their matte balms but they just don’t compare for me.

I don’t own anything from the Kate Moss range either but I’m thinking I might have to get this shade. I have a similar colouring to you so I think this shade would suit me too. Thanks for the review!

This particular colour definitely doesn’t do the range justice, you should try 107 which is a darker red so maybe not very spring appropriate, but it’s one of my absolute favourite darker lipsticks to wear 🙂 xx

Kate Moss range is one of my favourites! But not the matte range, or the Spring ones…the formulation is nowhere near as good.

I have several of the Kate Moss lipsticks, both Matte and non. This is actually my least favourite shade of the Matte range. The pale pink just doesn’t quite work with the texture. I think the 107 (dark purple-pink as mentioned above) and the 111 (red) are a lot better! x

The dark red (107?) is amazing, one of my favourites. The ‘proper’ red 111 is great too if you don’t have a proper red matte already. I have the pink 101 too, but don’t think it looks good on me and the formula is nowhere near as nice as the reds. You do need the dark red though.

I haven’t tried this shade but I have 16 which is a lovely coral colour that I got so much use out of last Summer and 107 which is a lovely dark re-love that one for evenings x

Definitely try the 107 dark red version. I bought it quite apprehensively last summer and actually works on me. It’s wearable on a lot of people but I also do like this shade too. Might have a keep an eye out for this one next time I’m in Boots!

I only have one of the matte colours from this range which is 107 and I think you would really like that. It’s a deep berry colour, perfect it Winter. The formula doesn’t look as dry as the lighter shades.

I love these lipsticks! I have very dry lips and really struggle for lipsticks, finding most just dry my lips even further. These are actually the first lipsticks that don’t do that to me! And the colour range is great ^_^

Hi Miss BB, have you tried MUA version of the chubby stick in ‘Rendezvous’ ? It looks like a browny/nude colour but goes on a gorgeous sheer pink – it’s really pretty if you’re into your pinks and a bargain at only £3!

Everyone has already said it but 107 is great. I have 101 as well but I think its too light for me. But 107 is very much my kind of colour.

I have to say, regardless of your hang-ups about the formula, this shade looks absolutely stunning on you in my opinion! Especially with the rest of your makeup pared back as in the photo. Love it! xx
