Rimmel Scandal-eyes Khol Pencils

I think it was Vivianna Does Makeup that first drew my attention to these pencils. There was a lot of noise about them after some big PR event at Fashion Week and you couldn’t go far online without hearing about them for quite some time. Although I’ve had these now for some months I thought I’d wait until the dust had settled to add my 2 cents on the 2 I picked up to try. They’re dubbed as waterproof Khol, Kajal and they’re extremely similar to the Urban Decay 24.7 liners. I’ve compared the Soap & Glory Khol to those in the past but these are a far better dupe as they have that same staying power and creamy application.

I knew I had to have the Nude since it was the most raved about but in truth it’s not my favourite. I’ve never been one for whitening my waterline in an attempt to widen my eyes.. I prefer a soot eyed smoulder and the formula of these is so thick and creamy it’s tough not to get them on your lashes which is not a great look when the colour is nude. It’s not something I reach for often but given that there are very few nude eyeliners on the market it’s a ‘nice to have’ and I’d rather have it from Rimmel than Chanel.

The second I got was Taupe. This was an interesting one because aside from the occasional pop of colour I pretty much stick to black to line my eyes so a softer brown shade is a nice change of pace and while I’m blonde (for now) it’s definitely complimentary.. I’m not so sure it would be enough definition if I was brunette, however, I do like dark eyes.

Overall these are very nice for a great price and I intend to replace my UD Zero with the Rimmel Black when it runs out.- available online here for £3.99

Have you tried these? Any colour recommendations?

I bought the Nude colour and I love it!, I makes my eyes look wider but in a more natural way than white liner does, I bought the Black colour as part of my Mom’s Xmas box, she’s reckons it’s a rich dark black that stays put in the waterline, I’m thinking of buying the Black for myself, even though I have an abundance of black liners 😀

Happy New Year! to my Fave blogger x:))

I have them both, and Taupe just doesn’t show up on my skin 🙁 the nude is nice but Urban Decay will always be my favourite liners.. shame about the price! Happy New Year!!!

I’ve been looking for these everywhere in the US, but can’t seem to find them. I am looking for the nude one. They don’t have any nude liners in the drugstore here. Do you know if they haven’t yet been released yet here, when they will? Thanks so much!

I use these as a makeup-base! I have extremely oily eyelids and these, especially the taupe, make a perfect base for my everyday eyeshadow! Seriously give it a go, because I’ve found nothing that works better as a base:)
