Seasonal Scents

IMG_3296

I’ve been on the hunt for some Autumnal scented candles for months, I found some fresh, fruity ones I liked for Spring/Summer and I have a whole host of festive favourites that I’m saving until at least mid-November but this inbetween season was left lacking. I’m not a big fan of caramel/apple/cidery scents so most Autumn fragrances don’t appeal but I’ve found two I absolutely love. If like me you struggle at this time of year you might love them too..

I love my Christmas cranberry scents so I thought Mandarin Cranberry was a sure thing but when I first burned it I was less than impressed. The throw was nothing like I’d come to expect from Yankee but over time I’ve come to enjoy the more subtle cranberry note and pick out the mellow manadarin.. it’s a little softer than the others and a great every day house warmer.. I finally understand why Yankee named their jars that!

Grapevine Oak was one I chose from a selection of new seasonal candles from Yankee recently. None of the others sounded like anything I’d like so this was a default choice that I hoped I’d enjoy, it’s not something I’d have picked up in a shop, the label doesn’t stand out to me but it is YUMMY. I’m not sure what I expected but it’s sweet, not sickly or too fruity with something of an outdoor element.. I don’t know what it is.

What’s your favourite candle right now?

Mmmm Mandarin Cranberry sounds tasty, I love any scents that remind me of Christmas.

I’ve been using Yankee Candle’s Soft Blanket wax melt at the moment. It’s so nice and comforting on these dark and cold nights.

Hi Khila. You may like Bay leaf Wreath and Winter Garden which are more ‘wintery’ than out-and-out Christmassy. We found ours discounted online 🙂

I think Winter Garden is only my list, my favourite Christmas candle was Winter Wonderland but I believe that’s been discontinued and Winter Garden sounds really similar

Hi! I have only ever bought Yankee candles as gifts but picked up a small one called Fall Glory (along with a cute tea light holder) in Asda the other day. It is a beautiful scent of apples and plums, not too sweet, and even though it’s small the scent fills the room. I will have to go and have a smell of Mandarin Cranberry :).

I love Yankee candles. Such a shame the Madarin Cranberry one was disappointing. I would expect the scent to be really nice. Will definitely have a sniff at the Grapevine & Oak, since you liked it so much. x

My favourite seasonal scent this year is Fireside Treats. It’s very marshmallowy and warm, everyone comments on it in the house. Lovely post xx

My favourite candle has to be Fireside Treats by Yankee Candle. I haven’t burnt it for a while but damn it smells so nice! It’s not too strong and overpowering so it’s perfect for me to burn for hours. ^_^
