I was sent this brush kit from Sedona Lace a couple of weeks ago to review on my YouTube channel. I thought I’d share it here on my blog as well as I know you don’t all follow me there. It’s pretty much a carbon copy of the kits available from Sigma.. which let’s face it are just the poor mans MAC but I love mine. I was dubious about accepting them for review as they’ve been doing the rounds on YouTube for a while and I hate to just add another opinion that’s the same as everyone elses but I put out a blast on twitter/facebook and lots of you wanted to see it so.. here we are! I will start by saying I don’t prefer them to my Sigma brushes, in fact if money was no object I’d chose my Sigma every time but this is a budget beauty blog and we’re looking for the best value for money.. that’s where Sedona Lace has the edge! This kit will set you back $59.95 whereas the equivalent from Sigma is $109.
There are small differences in the quality of the brushes and overall it is a case of you get what you pay for here (the brush roll feels cheap) however the Sigma kit is almost twice the cost and if I had to repurchase all of my brushes I just couldn’t justify that. I think that much like I think Sigma’s as good as I need and I’ll never pay MAC prices if Sedona Lace is your first brush brand you’ll probably feel the same way about Sigma. In my opinion you don’t need better quality than this for personal use, if you’re using them professionally perhaps a little shedding here and there is a warning sign they wont withstand day in day out makeup artistry but I think they’ll last just fine for an individual that looks after them and just uses them on the one face.
Overall I’d definitely recommend this kit as a low cost alternative to Sigma for those that want a good set of brushes but really don’t have the hundred dollar budget. Both brands offer similar US-UK shipping prices (around $16) and you can purchase this kit from Sedona Lace here.
Also.. if you use promo code missbudgetbeauty you will get $4 off
I don’t get anything for you using the code, I’m not affiliated with the brand, I’m not being paid to review these brushes, I was sent them on the agreement I would give them an honest review, which I have!
