Simple Is As Simple Does
I mean it doesn't get much simpler than cleansing wipes, does it? But those among us (so I'm guessing all of us) who've used them know that they are NOT all created equal. Nothing beats a thorough cleanse but I am never without a pack of wipes, I have never been the girl who slept in her makeup after a night out or a long day and I attribute that to always having this quick solution on hand for those 'can I really be bothered?' moments. I've tried so many versions over the years and someone new to this field would never believe the differences I've experienced brand to brand. If I were to explain to my husband, let's say, that I wanted him to pick me up a specific packet of cleansing wipes he'd likely just get the first ones he saw, he wouldn't understand the complexities, he's probably think baby wipes would do the job, actually.
My number one bug bear is moisture. SO many wipes are near enough dry after the first use.. I've tried all manner of things to combat this and the best tip I heard was leaving them upside down but come on! Isn't their main purpose in life to be wet? If we can't at least START there it's not a great performance indicator. Simple wipes are always wet, don't sting my eyes (a genuine problem I've had before.. yes, really!) and they don't dry out my skin. My skin is usually oily but as the colder months draw in I tend to err on the side of dry and dehydrated so cleansers//toners than strip out all of the moisture can end up breaking me out and leaving my skin looking worse.
