Can you believe this is the first Asian BB cream I’ve tried? I know, right? I love me my western BB creams but there’s always been a huge divide of those like me who are happy with Garnier and those who were fans of the traditional formulas and who were driven mad by the western brands calling every other base product BB. Let’s face it most that you try and glorified tinted moisturisers but as I’ve said many times it’s all about adjusting your expectations.. that’s really all they are so judge them as such. These original BBs are a whole different ball game however.
First and foremost the shade is DEAD on.. I really struggle to find a BB cream (jeez I feel like I need another name for that.. it’s getting SUPER repetitive, no?) that matches my skin tone but this was perfect, obviously the Asian cosmetic market is going to offer a wider selection of lighter colours but it’s also not too light.. just like baby bears porridge, juuuust right! I may have been reading too many childrens books, I apologise. The coverage is great, medium but buildable, the finish is satin, not so matte it exaggerates dryness but not so dewy it makes me look oilier than I already am. Skin79 do a huge variety of BB creams but this one has the added benefit of factor 50 sunscreen, anti aging properties and some kind of whitening effect. Now whitening can sound scary but most of the time all it means is that it will even out dark spots etc.. in my experience Asian products do this best and thus far I haven’t had any adverse reaction to what I’ve tried. The base lasts pretty well on me (again, I’m oily so not many do) and is one of the best BB/tinted moisturisers for oil control.. Lastly, packaging. It has a pump, very little waste, substantial bottle albeit plastic and the best thing is you can lock the pump so it wont spill in your makeup bag.
It is so rare that I try something about which I have nothing negative to say but I think this might just be one of those few. I received this from BestBBCreams which is a great site for Asian beauty products and one I will definitely purchase from in future. If you have any recommendations I’d love to hear them!
