Sleek True Colour Lipsticks

This is my first foray in to the world of Sleek lip products so bear with me. I wasn’t sure what to expect from these miniature bullets of bright colour and they were each very different. Happily the formula I found best was in fact the only wearable colour among the bunch (Loved Up) but the other two were odd, even if they’d not been ft for Halloween I don’t think I’d have had much joy.

I’m not sure if it was just the bizarre colour here or if the formula of Tangerine Scream was really just not quite as nice as the pink but I found that it accentuated every imperfection in my lips and applied more like a pain than a lipstick. It felt thick and I just didn’t like it.

Now this is more like it, a hot pink? (tick) a creamy formula (tick) and no horrid dryness peeking through. Loved Up is a winner!

Lastly.. mmm. Not sure I even need a caption here but I didn’t love this. I wasn’t expecting it to be matte after the first two were ‘sheens’ and the glitter particles made it all the more difficult to apply. It felt more like a scrub than a lipstick and I had to reapply several times as it was so patchy in photos, this is seriously the best of a bad bunch. I’m not totally put off by the colour and would consider a purple lip in future but this could have been the nicest shade of lipstick ever and it would still have disappointed.

One thing to note about all three of these is that they stained my lips, given that I only wore them for photos when I removed each they left a subtle hue behind so imagine what they’d be like after a full days wear! I will be reaching for the hot pink again but the others will be relegated to my drawer to look pretty. – Available online here priced at £4.99 each

These lipsticks are so pigmented and bright! I completely agree with you, that the hot pink is the best, gorgeous for summer time! Great post xx

I will save the rant about how the word “wearable” irritates me and just say that ugh, I wish I had Sleek near me in NW Wales. Because I adore their lipsticks and I want to stock up and swatch all the things.

I actually think the orange looks great on you 🙂 the pink is definitely the nicest though! Was thinking of trying some lip products from sleek myself as I love their eyeshadow palettes. Thanks for sharing 🙂

I got a really corally Sleek lippy in my Glossybox a few months ago. So far so good, though it is SO bright its definitely not for everyday wear.

The pink one looks really nice but wow the orange; I would have to work hard to try and pull that look off. It also seems a shame the lack of product you get 🙁

These look bold & fab! Loved Up is my fave, I think. Or at least the colour I would wear.

I haven’t tried any of Sleek’s new lipsticks but I really love the ones I have from their older collection. Loved Up looks like a shade that I’d wear a lot though, I may have to be naughty and pick it up xx
