I’m not huge on nail art, not because I don’t like it but there’s SUCH a lot of drying time involved. So I may do something else simple for Halloween but I thought I’d share this slimy looking creation as it seemed appropriate for the season. I have had these Smoky top coats from NYC for ages and just haven’t got chance to use them so I will be trying as many out as possible over the next few days and hopefully stocking up on some nail posts for you guys because I feel I’ve been lacking a little in that department. I feel like once upon a time I have a minimum of one (maybe 2) nail posts a week and these days nothing so I’m going to bring it back in a big way.. you just wait!
*What I Used*
I painted my whole nail in High Line Green (bright green in the middle) then tipped them with Money Never Sleeps (the deep metallic on the right) I tried to blend them together a little in the middle with a thin coat of the brighter green again before using the Smoky Top Coat in Green Day. I think it’s really effective and the sheer smoky polish that Green Day brings is so much better than a regular glitter to help blend an ombre nail like this. Like I said I have a few colours so will have to give some others a go.. I’m thinking purple could be cool.
What will your nails be dressed as this October 31st?

This looks really effective you have pulled it off nicely. I have attempted ombre nails a few times but it always looks so bad and I end up taking it off even though I have spent too long waiting for each coat to dry! Maybe the glitter topcoat is what I need if it pulls it all together. Looking forward to seeing what other colours the Smokey topcoats come in as I don’t wear greens that often at all. Have a lovely weekend. x

Oooh slimy!!! Looks great. I was just thinking I should maybe do something scary with my nails for Halloween. I’ve not got any fancy dress parties to go to this year, so this would be as far as I’d go in terms of participating in this ‘holiday’! I’ve not got any green nail varnishes though – it’s probably the only colour I haven’t got!

I think they look great. How did you blend the two together? Use the lighter colour from the bottom to the middle of the nail?

difficult to explain but i’m going to try and film a tutorial x
Love this theme! I’m also too impatient for detailed nail art a lot of the time, but this seems really doable. 🙂
Lovely! Would go great with a witch or zombie costume!
I LOVE the look – it’s fun, sparkly and green like witche’s brew – what’s not to like :o). Xx
