As you may know I have a bit of a thing for matte lipsticks and this is up there with the best of them. My all time favourites (if you were wondering) are the Matte Balms from Revlon but Soap & Glory Pom Pom is the best bullet variety I’ve tried. I even love the packaging here, simple but sleek and one twists revels an embossed product that reads higher end than it’s drugstore price tag.
There’s not much I’ve tried from this brand that I haven’t been totally in love with and I sense that this will be the first of many S&G lipsticks I will own – I already have my eye on “Blush Pink”. They call this formula ‘powder coat’ and I can see why because once it sets it really is more velvety than super matte – in fact compared to the MAC Retro Matte range this finish is practically glossy. If you’re just dipping your toe into the recent matte trend this would be a great place to start, I’m going to call it a gateway lipstick.
Colour-wise.. well do I even need to get in to that? You’ll have to excuse my eyebrows in the top picture, they’re the horrendously golden toned Brow Fantasy I featured yesterday (big no no) – was it not for those brows I think Pom Pom totally steals the show and the poppy, raspberry colour is a great year round shade, a nice bright for summer but if I’m honest it will probably see more action once Autumn swings around again. Is it just me or are you looking forward to that? I HATE this heat! #blasphemy
