Earlier this week we went to look at some cars, as you know I’d been contemplating getting a little runaround for me in addition to our ‘family’ car which Lee takes to work every day. During the winter it can be a pretty painful walk to work and I don’t even consider leaving the house with the kids during my days at home but once Spring hits and I feel the worst of it is over I usually forget about a car and continue to buy shoes with that money instead. Well unlike every other year just as I was talking myself out of it again last weekend a flyer arrived from my work advertising a new Fuel & Go scheme.. uhh.. okay. Given that the majority of my income is through self employment I would never be able to get finance on a lease under normal circumstances however because this is through work there’s no credit check, no deposit and it comes out my wages BEFORE tax so it’s a chunk cheaper than a regular lease too. Exciting! So now my shortlist has changed dramatically because I’m looking at NEW cars, I never in a million years thought I’d be driving a new car given that I wouldn’t buy one and my job isn’t likely to require a company vehicle so this is all pretty cool for me and the deals on offer are really affordable too.. I might actually finally get a little car of my own!!
*What I’m Wearing*
I bought this jacket to wear specifically like this, with a casual top underneath and jeans but when I put it all together I realised it did kind of look like a suit, it was completely unintentional but I like it and if I wore it will a smarter top and heels it’s a casual take on office wear. I will likely wear this outfit again with my grey or paler denim jeans for a little more contrast but I liked the faux suit for the day so I thought I’d share it. The top was a hand me down from my Dad when I was teenager and he often remarks that it’s the only thing I’ve ever looked after. He might be right but it’s been washed a billion times and is still going strong so I’m going to say it’s more likely that tshirts just aren’t what they used to be these days.. it’s practically indestructible. Hard to believe my Dad actually used to wear it.. BEFORE I WAS BORN!
So back to cars, top of my list right now is the Volkswagen Up! I love VW cars and it’s the most affordable of the bunch, the Golf is was out of my price range but the Up! is a fun little car with loads of available add ons to make it really cool inside and out. We went to see one and I fell in love with it, at the time I think my husband took a shine to the German aesthetics too but since then he’s been pushing me to shop around. I like the Mini and the Fiat 500 but neither come with a 5 door option on the standard model and that’s an absolute must for me, especially with the kids but even without, I need my 5 doors. There’s the Fiesta which is also great value and has lots of bells and whistles but it’s just not as cute in my opinion, you may feel differently but the Up! smiles.. it just does! Watch this space to see if someone can talk me round 😉
