Last week I asked twitter for new video suggestions and one of the best came from my blogging friend, El (of AThriftyMrs) who challenged me to put a makeup bag together for £5. Honestly, I tried, I really did but that’s TOUGH! I’m still working on it and really want to come back to you with a minimal look for that but in the meantime I thought I’d share my £10 face. If I’m totally honest I even failed at that but ONLY because I lost the powder i intended to use just before shooting.. the powder I used instead took me £3 over the budget but rest assured you can do it all for £10 if you REALLY want to. Some of the products I used were purely to be on budget (the brow pencil for example – not great) but some are really worth a look no matter what you’re willing to spend.
Here’s a run down of everything I’m wearing here and if you’d like to see a quick show and tell the video is below – or you can click here to watch it on YouTube.. don’t forget to subscribe while you’re there 😉
MUA Pro Base Concealer Crayon / MUA Pro Base Prime/Conceal Powder / Laval Waterproof Twist Up Brow Pencil/ NYC Showtime Mascara / MUA Candyfloss Blush / Natural Collection Lipstick in Pink Mallow

Ooh, interesting! I’ve used the non-waterproof Laval blonde eyebrow pencil in the past. It’s a regular pencil sharpener type rather than twist up and I thought that one was really quite good as it wasn’t waxy or orange like a lot of cheap eyebrow pencils can be. It’s a shame that the new twist up waterproof version isn’t very good, I can tell that it’s too waxy and gives eyebrows that slightly matted effect, but from a distance it looks fine. I love MUA blushes, so nice for £1! I think you did really well with your limited budget and this look is really pretty 🙂 x

I loved this video! Great look for minimal money which proves that people don’t need to spend all their money on beauty products. This look would be great for work/school/weekends so very adaptable.
I am obsessed with those MUA blushes, such good quality for the price!

Ahh thank you!! Right, I’ve never tried Soft & Gentle but I have Stereo Rose. There are similar products available but if you’re looking to treat yourself the MAC Mineralise blush/highlighters are superb! There’s nothing QUITE like them but I will put together a highlighter post for you to give you some other options
That’s great x thank you x I just think the whole bronzer, highlighter, blush area can be soooooo confusing at times – a great video idea???? Thank you for your time x Julie x
How easy is it to remove the NYC mascara? I have sensitive eyes so am wary of ones that you need to spend 15 mins scrubbing off! 🙂
