The 3 Dot Liner

IMG_2591When I first heard of this I had no idea what I would use it for. I imagined it’s only purpose was for a very ‘of the moment’ liner look that I’d never be able to master so didn’t think I’d get much use from it.. BUT..

IMG_2594Once I had it I was forced to experiment and although you could definitely do a trendy dotted liner look with I discovered that it’s purpose is actually much simpler. For those of you who struggle with liner but want some definition to your lash line this may well be the answer to your prayers. This 3 pronged felt tip applicator is designed to fill in the gaps between your lashes to both define and make then appear fuller while looking natural and being near fool proof for those who struggle to get a straight line with conventional methods. You can achieve a thicker line too but there are multiple different products I’d rather use for that. It’s definitely going to take practice to get the very best results, a quick google image search will show you that not everyone gets it right first time but some have really mastered the application.

IMG_2541IMG_2542The idea is to get as close to the lash line as possible which feels a little foreign/as if you may poke yourself in the eye but as I say.. practice makes perfect. I think this is a great, innovative idea that will work particularly well for those of us with little lid space to begin with and don’t want to lose any more to thick liner but also don’t want to forgo that definition altogether. Definitely something I’d recommend you try if that’s you or you struggle with liner application/smudging. This stays put all day.

The 3 dot liner I used was from Clarins – link – however Bourjois also have their own version which is considerably cheaper and looks to be almost identical – link

I think this is brilliant! I’m always trying to do the filling-in of lashes with liquid liner and it’s super difficult. This would make my life a lot easier 😀

I like to think that I have built the skills for liquid eyeliner now, but I’d still love to give something like this a go! Maybe not this version, but I would definitely try the Bourjois or Seventeen version just to see what it’s like!

Ooh that’s a clever idea! It actually reminds me of a type of tattoo needle used for shading!

I have the bourjois one and I love it! I have very fair lashes and I often find even when I apply liner quite neatly it looks odd as it looks gappy along my actual lash line. This allows me to get right in there and fill those gaps! Is fiddly but worth it sometimes. 🙂 xx.

Brilliant use of this product… honeslty, I wouldn’t have known how to use this without a post like this. So simple. Ah, I love the beauty blogging community.

That looks quite interesting. I might actually give it a try, as I always struggle with the “normal” eyeliners when I only want them to make my lashes look more full.
