The £4 Moroccan Oil Dupe

You may already be aware of my love for hair oils but if not.. I am borderline obsessed! When my hair was in terrible condition during pregnancy last year I discovered Moroccan Oil and it shone for the first time in I don’t know how long. I did find, however that it was a little heavy and easy to accidentally achieve that oil slick look.. attractive! I branched out and tried some different brands, thus far Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment is my favourite. It’s more serum than oil in consistency and much harder to over-apply. Both smell deliciously sweet in their own ways and when I received this Carino version I’ll admit the scent was the first thing I wanted to test and it didn’t disappoint, sweet but not overpowering.

This particular bottle features the same amber glass (to protect it from the suns rays) but the ‘applicator’ is not a pump or pipette but a dropper style top that helps to measure out the oil while ensuring you wont accidentally pour it all over the bathroom floor. The smaller bottles of Moroccan/Macadamia are just open so if you dropped it.. well just don’t, it would make a big mess! I do think you could pry this plastic stopper out if you preferred though. This is definitely more the oily consistency rather than serum so I need only the tiniest amount in damp hair to add some shine and softness but it’s not as heavy as the Morrocan oil.. it absorbs quickly and I’d imagine it’s comparable to lighter formula launched by the popular brand. It’s a very nice product that I think most people would be hard pressed to guess wasn’t an expensive one.

I’ve been so excited to talk about this since it was sent to me at the start of the month but I wasn’t sure how much it would retail for as it’s a relaunch and with a product that proved as popular as this did the first time it was available retailers do tend to hike up the price. I’m pleased to announce that in this case it’s the same great value it was the last time around and you can pick up this Moroccan Oil Dupe for just £3.99 from Aldi supermarkets nationwide.

Moroccanoil is my holy grail product. I use it almost every day especially when blowdrying my hair as it quickens up the process – does anyone else find this? I think hairtrade is the cheapest place you can get it at the moment. I also find it good to use on my hair extensions Kate x

it’s amazing but as I say.. a little heavy on my shorter hair so these lighter equivalents are better for me right now
