The Cheapest Headboard In The West

They call her Khila, KHILA! And she bought the cheapest headboard in the WEST! .. I'm not sure what brought that to mind. As I write thisI'm sitting on the stairs staking out my sons room in case he gets out of bed for the 18th time (8.30pm on Wednesday for your reference) so the solitude may be getting to me but I've been wanting to share this little find since I installed it and now seemed like as good a time as any! - oh and don't mind me crumpled sheets.. I don't know about yu but I sleep in my bed and this is what it looks like on a GOOD day.

When we moved I wanted a change, I was sick of our old brown leatherette bed and wanted a fresher colour scheme in or new room so I swapped with Ella's divan and went on the hunt for a nice headboard. Little did I know a headboard can cost as much (sometimes more) than a a whole new bed.. I was ready to give up on the idea when I found this on Amazon. It seemed too good to be true so I didn't want to post about it until I had it in my hands and knew that it was good but we've had it on our bed for 3 weeks now and I can tell you I am absolutely over the moon with it.. for the price.

It's not the material I would have chosen and it was tough to tell what it would be like from the listing but it's going to be durable and it's a nice colour.. it's not a BAD material it's just a little dated in a chenille is all.. still excellent value and I wouldn't may more for a different fabric so really, why am I even mentioning it? I struggled to fit it at first because I had no idea how and since they're all handmade it's not obvious where the holes in the back are but it comes with all the fixtures needed and once we messed around with the height and FOUND the holes it looked and felt a hundred times better. Totally sturdy and now you can actually SEE more than a few inches of it above our pillows. We recently got a new matress from Eve which has made a huge impact on our quality of sleep and between that and the headboard it feels like a totally new bed. I think we just become a bit complacent with our beds and don't want to spend a lot of money on them and aestehtically it's definitely nice to save but we spend so much time in them it's worth making your bed a place you want to be rather than just a place to sleep. I am so much more comfortable in the higher up divan than I was in our lower frame and we've gone from a sprung mattress to a memory foam/silicone hybrid.. Much as I don't like an early night (I get all my energy after 9pm) I do very much look forward to going to bed now.

My headboard is from Amazon, here's the exact one I ordered - see how different it looks? I'm not super fussed since I do like it and it was dirt cheap compared to others similar but you can see why I mentioned the fabric - and it arrived in abut a week, very well packaged. I did need to contact the seller because it was delivered around the time we moved and the customer service was excellent, they changed the delivery address at the last minute for me no problem!

I'm going to be posting some more housey stuff over the next few weeks as I pull little areas together in the new place, I had a rug delivered today I might have to dedicate a post to because again I love it and it was pretty inexpensive but if you're not in to that then apologies in advance.. homeware is my jam right now.
