The Christmas Jumper

15 December, 2014

IMG_4376I remember when Christmas jumpers weren’t really a thing here in the UK. As a teenager I remember wishing I could buy one with snowflakes on it but aside from the odd fair-isle print you couldn’t get anything. The closest we had would probably have been the outlandish light up ones or musical ties but these days you can get a festive knit in almost any theme you like. This years jumper is a perfect example of that, I have plenty of traditional reds with Rudolph/Christmas sayings on them but this is a bit different. For one it’s PURPLE (happens to be my favourite colour) which is still seasonal but not something you see everyday and second it’s a snowy scene of London (which my Childminder mistook for a spooky scene – ie: Halloween jumper – mmm) IMG_4371British Christmas Jumpers have a huge selection like this, different cities, unusual themes.. if you’re looking for something different (ie: not from Primark) I’d highly recommend you give them a look.. you’d be surprised at the selection from the interesting/cool to the utterly bizarre – here’s an example.. a little odd

IMG_4388Rather nicely the lovely folks at BCJ sent me this one and even personalised it with my blog name so it will be a Christmas staple for years to come but if I were to pick another.. it would have to be this. I just love the snowy scenes, so cute! They are still pretty bulky (like the Primark ones) so they aren’t the most flattering on the female form but if you’re looking for something comfy to wear with leggings mine is serving just that purpose as I type. If you’re looking for something that hangs a little nicer I would highly recommend New Look. One of my favourite festive jumpers is from there, not too thick and is cut like a regular sweater.

Do you do the Christmas Jumper thing?

Miss BB

How adorable is this!!! Love that it’s personalised, would be cool if they could knit beauty products on the front!

I have a thing for Christmas sweaters no matter how cheesy they are. They make me feel as though I am home 🙂

I bought 3 Christmas Jumpers and wore them throughout December but I would have loved a personalized one… maybe next year 😉
