The Diet Starts Tomorrow

Edit: I usually have my scales set to lbs rather than stones,  worked out my weight from that but when I changed the settings to stones I suddenly weighed more so I’ve since reset and this is my new goal..

If you followed my Christmas Countdown vlogs you will know that I was approached by Weight Watchers recently along with several other bloggers to join up to their program for the New Year. Now I’ll admit I wasn’t all too thrilled to be targeted by a company asking  me to lose weight (lol) but I’ve made no secret of wanting to shape up after baby number 2 and I figured weight loss would be a popular topic for most of you given that January Gym Memberships hit an annual high. Everybody resolves to eat better and exercise, right? Well I don’t feel that I have lot of weight to lose but my thighs could stand to be firmer and my midsection has always been a ‘problem area’ so I will be following WW’s ‘Pro Points’ scheme along with regular visits to the gym and I’ll be documenting my experience. If nothing else I’m hoping that doing this alongside fellow bloggers will motivate me to keep it up. There are a few things I’d really like to cut out, Fizzy drinks is one, I have a real addiction to carbonated soda’s, Diet Coke specifically. I know they don’t make me feel good and I want to switch to dilute or fruit juice, I also want to add more fruit and veg to my diet. They’re my 2 initial goals and I figure if I ‘start small’ as WW suggest I wont feel the difference, I’m not one to binge on sweets and chocolates so it’s not huge grind for me it’s more the effort of preparing fresh meals everyday but I may have found a solution for that.. look out for a healthy eating post for lazy girls very soon!

Current Weight: 8st 13lbs

First Goal: 8st 6.7lbs

I know from experience that these posts can be controversial, especially when revealing my weight but please be aware that people carry weight differently. I may appear to be the same weight as someone that is a lot lighter or heavier than me. Some of you will read my weight and think I shouldn’t be looking to lose anything and some will think I have to lots to go but I am 5’2” with a short body and long legs, my weight sits primarily around my midsection and upper half and that’s what I’d like to work on. I do not want to appear to be sending the message that all girls at my weight need to lose something as this is not the case.

If I was you (and I am in a similar position) I would look to tone rather than lose weight, at 5’1 I was told I was underweight by the doctors at 8st, I now only aim to tone and am about 8st 6.

I’d love if I could do that but my tummy is much larger than I’d like and no amount of toning will reduce that. I’ll have to lose weight and hope it will shrink that area while toning the rest in the gym

I look forward to read about your toning. What is the conversion rate of stone to kilograms?

Good luck! You have to do what you feel is right for your body providing you keep yourself healthy… no one else has the right to judge your shape or weight and what works or feels right for them, may not be so for you… so ignore any negative replies – people can be so rotten and judgemental! I look forward to your progress updates! xx

Oh gosh the last time I mentioned dieting I had someone in one breath tell me I was ‘obviously a big girl’ and in the next say she was worried I was ‘developing an eating disorder’ lol. Ultimately I’d really like to find easy ways to add in more fruit and veg and discover healthier meals my whole family will eat rather than taking the easy option of takeaway or frozen meals

Hi! I thought I’d offer a university student’s hint for quick, cheap, healthy food and that’s ready made stirfry packs! I buy mine from any of the big supermarkets (mainly Asda and Sainsburys) and they’re £1-ish for the pack of vegetables (in loads of different varieties) and £1 (or less) for a pack of fresh egg noodles. I throw everything in the same pan, stirfry for 5 minutes (as per the instructions on the packs) and then just add dark soy sauce or a sachet of stirfry sauce and its absolutely delicious! Great for when you can’t be arsed to cook a “real” tea at night but still really healthy 🙂 Hope this helps!

Hi hun, Going back to when you started a diet last yr i think you were around 9st 7 at your starting point so well done you on losing 8lb! I must say i definetely noticed you looked slimmer lately. I think the weight your going to get to next is fine for your height if that is what makes you feel good. Just wanna say you look great now too tho and to me you definetely dont ‘need’ to lose weight.
Good luck love and support always, Rachx

    Good luck!
Im personally trying to loose a little and tone up for my summer working Florida, hello bikini body! I’m not calling it a diet as such, but I just want to get rid of a little excess around my belly and just become healthier by cooking fresh food everyday (pretty hard while at university i do admit!) As soon as I get back down south im starting the 30 day shred, hopefully I will get the results i want!
