I was never a fan of the original Apocalips range but I love me a matte lip colour so how I missed this launch I have no idea but once I spotted them online I had to order the deepest, plummy, most autumnal shade, Meteoric Matte. I wasn’t a lover of the thicker lacquer version of these because they were messy, so easily smudged and they bled like nobody’s business but I liked the general idea. An opaque liquid lipstick with a very nice applicator in a good variety of colours so when I saw that there was a not so goopy version I had high hopes. I’m not saying I don’t like them but my expectations weren’t entirely met either. When something claims to be matte I expect it to be but this never really set on my lips, it was always a little moist which is not a huge deal and for some will be massively appealing as it didn’t feel drying at all.
This is more like a traditional lipstick in finish so in fairness it’s a heck of a lot more matte than the super shiny ones but it’s not what I consider to be a matte lip product so much as I do like it and I will wear it I wanted to be clear on that for anyone who wouldn’t for those reasons. One massive improvement is the bleeding issue, I found this to be much better in that department so it’s definitely a product I’d recommend.. with just the one ‘but’
If any of you have tried this and found it to actually BE matte I’d love to hear from you!

What a luscious shade!
I hated the originals too! I don’t think I’d love these either but that colour is gorgeous!

Such a shame they aren’t matt, the colour still good gorgeous on you.
I really didnt like the original range of these but I’ve swatched the matte ones and they are a much nicer formula. Love this shade x

I hardly use the original ones nowadays because I prefer matte lips, so may need to try these out! So happy to hear they’re not as gloopy!

I’m rather glad they have now done these in matte, it was my only issue with the originals!

That shade is fantastic! I wonder when they will be in Canada (haven’t seen any in my area yet anyways). I love the original formula so I bet I will love these too!
This looks amazing, I cant wait to try it but i have to wait till it launches in Hong Kong
I have it in the shade atomic rose and I really like it. The matte formula is great. The one you’re wearing here is gorgeous too! X

I need this lip colour in my life! I’m sold. But do you think it would be too bold to wear as a graduation colour? Especially since I usually don’t wear any make-up or very little. Hmmm… dilemmas!
It might not be matte, but the colour looks absolutely amazing on you! x
I had this problem at first. I think you’re either supposed to put the smallest bit on and pull it out across your lips. Or blot! But I do love the colours they have
I know what you mean about feeling like they’re not drying but I also found they were so drying on my lips. I’d apply one and then within a very short space of time my lips were dry and looked awful so I’ve put these on the back burner for the while! This shade is my favourite though, perfect for this season!
Perfect shade for winter…absolutely love your hair too!

I bought all the shades when the came out (thanks boots points) and as much as I like them they certainly aren’t what they’re supposed to be.
I like my matte lipsticks to have no movement whatsoever and these are far too creamy. I didn’t experience the bleeding like you did but they did disappear the second I had something to eat or drink. It’s a shame but I won’t be throwing them out as the colours are lovely.
I actually like the look of these over the first collection! I’ll be checking them out in store asap! This shade really suits you hun, probably the one I’ll end up buying. 😛

So I got this the other day (same shade as I thought it looked so lovely). I tried it on using a nude lipstick underneath (Maybelline Sultry Sand, I think it’s called – it’s way too nude to wear otherwise) and I had to get it off because I was going to work after… and it wouldn’t budge! I don’t know if it was the lipstick that helped with the staying power or what, but I had to scrub at my lips with hot water and a flannel! Did this happen to you at all?
Despite it not being the matte it’s supposed to be, that color looks amazing on you!
