The Texturisers

IMG_2492My hair has natural texture, it’s a wavy mess if left to it’s own devices but between bleaching and heat styling it’s not in tip top condition so that texture often transforms to frizz without the help of some product to control it. The look I’m aiming for is the just rolled out of bed, don’t care so anything promising messy, tousled locks must be tried. I’m not going to go through ALL of the above (we haven’t got all day, people!)  but I am going to cover my top 3.. they’re all pretty good but these are my favourites..

V05 Casual Control Dry Texture Spray – £3.99

This one is the best every day spray, it adds some control and is great for volume but it doesn’t feel too heavy in your hair and you can use it 2 days in a row without feeling gross. I use this on days when my hair already looks pretty good but it needs some oomph. The original V05 Give me texture is also great, very similar products.

L’Oreal Studio Matte & Messy Salt Spray – £3.75

This is one I would use on last day hair because it feels so gunky there’s no way I’m going another day without washing. It’s almost like a spray wax, It doesn’t set so you can also restyle throughout the day without applying more product.. I’d guess this would be the best for those with little to no natural texture.

Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray – £6.99

The last one is possibly my favourite.. it’s more hairspray like in texture and can leave me hair feeling dry but when I need a volume boost there’s nothing like it. I usually use this when my hair is straight, I spray the underneath sections, rub it in a little and I’m done.. big hair in a small amount of time. This one is less texturising though, it will give volume but it’s not going to give you messy beach hair.

The main thing to note is that all texturisers will leave your hair feeling less than clean. It’s supposed to coat your hair and that’s not something that everyone likes.. it’s not my FAVOURITE feeling but these three do great things for that sacrifice so if you’re thinking of trying one they’re my top picks!

Do you texturise?

These products sound really good! I like to use the Toni & Guy texture sprays. 🙂

Wow – you have a lot of texturisers! I have never got one with them personally – but I’m probably not using them properly!
