Can you even believe this is my first Topshop lipstick? I know, me either. It’s another example of blogger hyper working totally against a product for me. If I hear everyone and their wife say something is great I don’t want it, I’m all about the underdog and have no interest in reviewing something for you guys that you already ‘know’ is great I want to find something different. So that’s why it took me so long to succumb but last week when I was treating myself to a spot of retail therapy I decided to bit the bullet (pun intended) an Brighton Rock was what jumped out as most ‘me’.
It’s a matte finish but it doesn’t LOOK too matte on the lips which is great cause I hate that bitty dry lips look and this is more satin on me. The formula is quite dry however upon application, that’s what you expect from a matte lipstick though and as a result it does adhere and last longer so I don’t mind that it’s not super creamy and smooth. Packaging wise.. hmm perhaps another reason I’ve not picked one of these up already. I don’t know what it is but it’s not a cheap makeup line and I feel like it looks a little like it is.. not sure if I’m alone in that but the nail polish especially is not very special looking and much as I like some of the colours I just think they don’t look like £5(or£6 in some cases) polishes.. Barry M is under £3 and it doesn’t look any less expensive in my opinion. But that’s just my general gripe with Topshop prices I think.. everything is a little more than I’d like it to be and it takes several moons aligning for me to actually buy something – thinking about it I’ve splashed out there a few times in the past 2 weeks.. something strange is going on.
Excuse my face, I’d been heavily rained on about 10 minutes prior.. what’s with this weather? I mean the heat was driving me mad but this humid monsoon might be worse.
