Urban Decay Smog – My Holy Grail Eyeshadow

This little beauty is one of many Christmas gifts Laura from LauraLovesBeauty spoiled me with before she went on honeymoon last week. We exchanged gifts early because she wont be back until the 24th but I’m an early gift giver anyway.. I can’t resist. She also got me a beautiful Bare Minerals travel brush set I will be sharing with you as well but this had to come first because it’s just so awesome. Smog is my all time favourite eyeshadow and I’ve often remarked that if I had a single I wouldn’t need to pack any other if I was to travel. Now I’m not sure whether I’ll stick to that since I have a big trip coming up very soon but it will definitely be coming with me. The packagine has changed since I last bought an individual shadow but I actually prefer it, very modern and slick and as I understand it the pan can now pop in and out if you want to create a palette – although it seems pretty expensive to do that!

It’s the perfect deep bronze, not too dark and with enough dimension that it can be worn alone and blended up to the crease giving the illusion you’ve put it WAY more effort than you really have. It looks beautiful on all eye colours and really brings out the green in my hazel peepers.. lovely worn smudged under the lower lashes if you’re going for a less intense smokey look.. there’s always a place for Smog. I didn’t have the opportunity before writing this up to take a photo of me wearing it however I will endeavour to share a FOTS with it worn alone soon to prove my point. Urban Decay eyeshadows are absolutely it for me, MAC don’t hold a candle and this is my holy grail!

What do you think is your all time favourite eyeshadow?

Smog seems like such a versatile color! My favorite eyeshadow would be UD’s Underground. It’s the perfect balance of taupe and bronze! I can wear it by itself and get a decent look!
