Vaping CBD / Weekly Wind Down 2.4

This entire week has been marred a back pain flare up that has made me miserable. At one point it was so dire at work that I went in to a toilet cubicle and lodged myself so that my upper back/neck were on the toilet seat and my legs were up against the door just because I had to ‘lie down’ to get some relief. It’s worse on my office days or sure but recently it’s been keeping me up at night too so after mainlining Solpadine Plus I decided to try something new.

I’ve tried CBD oil drops before and found them to be effective but expensive. I recently bought a couple of bottles of the capsules (hoping that they’d be easier to dose) which again were pricey but I didn’t really feel any effect from those at all. Yesterday I finally stopped by the pop up vape shop in Meadowhall as we were on our way out and I picked up a ‘pen’ and some CBD vape.

I’ve since read that there are certain ingredients that you should look out for in what you vape and (wouldn’t you know it) the kind I bought has one of those no no ingredients that can be carcenogenice when heated (GREAT!) so I’ll be looking elsewhere next time but in a short space of time, it’s really helped my pain.

It could well be a placebo but I thought I’d share this initial ‘here’s what I’m trying’ so in weeks to come I can update you on my progress, what I’m using/trying and whether it really is working. I have this pain for life (according to the chiropractor) so I have to find a way to manage it when it gets really bad and as a non-smoker I was very skeptical about vaping but it’s quite theraputic and I’ve read that you don’t actually need to inhale the vapor in order for the CBD to be absorbed.. so there’s that.

In other news, I finally finished Hillary Clinton’s book “What Happened”. It was really interesting to hear her side of the campaign and more details from behind the curtain but it was a looooong one. I’ve moved on to Oprah’s “What I Know For Sure” as a little respite before delving in to the next heavy ‘read’. She truly in a queen, isn’t she? I actually broke to listen to her Goop interview and (I know Goop is controversial) but it was a lovely conversation and one I’d recommend listening to if you need some motivation/good vibes.

On the alcohol front, I didn’t make the concious decision not to drink this week but I think something clicked in me last week, I didn’t feel good after that heavy night and I didn’t want so much as a glass of wine until last night. We had friends over, I was sensible, had a bottle of water before bed and today has been a productive Sunday as a result. I don’t want to have to cut it out altogether but I also don’t want to lean on drinking in times of stress or difficulty and (circling back) I’m actually hoping that the CBD vape may replace the post work glass of wine as well as help with my back.

This evening I will mostly be editing photos and some video for the week ahead, finally putting together a skeleton itinerary for LA/Vegas in April and watching vlogs from someone called ‘Say Hi To Matthew’ on Emma’s recommendation.

What do you have planned?

I’m a chronic pan sufferer due to an autoimmune disease. I have used cbd oil for a while and find the Canabidol brand to be the best for quality and strength. I on 500mg which at £40 a pop is pricey but I rarely take any of the heavy duty pain killers the dr has prescribed. I hope it helps you!
