One of the pitfalls of being super organised with so many drafted posts at the ready is that I occasionally forget to blog about something I really want to tell you about.. This is one such post that I thought I’d published weeks ago but apparently I hadn’t even written it. Anyway.. it’s here now and I know you all love you some budget brands so I’m excited to share with you some new glosses from Vivo. For those of you that don’t know, Vivo is a brand that launched in Tesco stores last year and has received a lot of blogger love since. Given that these days I’m more of an Asda girl I haven’t had chance to try anything from the range until now but I will be making a special trip to see more after this.
The Lacquer Shine glosses are a relatively new release and as you’d imagine the general idea is an ultra glossy finish. As with a lot of gloss products the more pigmented shades tend to streak and that’s an ‘issue’ with both of the colours I received. It’s not something that would put me off purchasing more of them but I think it’s worth mentioning. The brush is unlike any other I’ve tried, I could have sworn it was a little rubber wand but it is in fact a brush. It feels a bit awkward to use and is too small in my opinion but that’s just my personal preference peeking through. The product has a very sweet, fruit smell which I like but it’s always worth mentioning as i know not everyone likes scented lip products and the formula is also very nice, not sticky but a touch drying if worn all day. Colour-wise – Heavenly is a shade I would absolutely have picked out for myself and has been living in my handbag for the past month, it’s a sheer plum/pink that’s very ‘daytime’ for me. Fire is a lot brighter and unfortunately doesn’t suit me at all, it’s an orange/coral and for a gloss give a lot of colour.
All in all for £1.99 I’m really impressed by these, I’d heard a lot about the brand but kind of assumed it would be a bit rubbish because Tesco sold it (*gasp* – I know.. I know!) but it turns out they’re really nice. There are 8 shades ranging from nude to deep red so something for everyone I would say.. and who doesn’t need a new lip gloss at that price?
It actually turns out to be perfect timing that I’m posting now as they have 50p off on their site making these glosses just £1.49!! available online here and in Tesco stores.
