I’ve seen lots of ‘what’s in my shower’ videos on YouTube and always really enjoy them but truth be told my bathrooms a bit.. yuck.. and I don’t relish the thought of filming in it. We live in a rented house and regardless of the bleach and elbow grease it just never looks sparkling so rather than subject you to that I thought I’d show you a photo of what is in my bathroom right now. I like the idea of updating this once every couple of months as it’s interesting to see what sticks and what twists, don’t you agree? So.. what’s on the go this month?
Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo £7.19
I’ve tried the regular version of this but the one I’m using right now is the ‘double effect’ which is supposedly anti-dandruff. The reason this appealed was because the regular formulawas super drying so I thought this would be less so.. unfortunately I see no difference and if I remember rightly this is either more expensive or less volume so if you’re considering trying Alpecin I’d recommend the original. You can see my full review here.
John Frieda Full Repair Deep Conditioner £6.29
I always have a hair mask or deep conditioning treatment on the go and this is what I’m using right now. It’s not my favourite but it’s nice enough. I have a pot of Herbal Essences Hello Hydration in my cupboard that I’m looking forward to busting out once this is finished. You can find my full review here.
Naked Rescue Shampoo & Conditioner £4.19
This is one of the best organic/natural ranged I’ve ever tried. My hair never feels totally clean with any of the others I’ve used in the past but this leaves my hair feeling shoft, shiny and repaired.. I think I was most impressed ’cause I was expecting nothing but regardless these are great products and if I didn’t have a cupboard full of shampoo & conditioner to use up I would repurchase for sure. Ginvera Whitening Marvel Gel £22
This was previously only available online in the UK but has recently come to Harvey Nichols stores. It’s a blogger favourite but I’m still not sure. I pulled it out of my stash in the wake of my recent blackhead drama as it’s dubbed a ‘blackhead remover’ but I don’t think it really did much. That being said my skin feels super smooth after using it so it is pretty nice just maybe not £22 nice. Full review here
Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean Cleanser £7
This is my all time favourite cleanser and if you’ve been reading my bog or watching my videos for any length of time you will know how much I love it. Recently I’ve wondered if it’s still working for me because it’s not giving me the same effect as it used to but it’s come to the point where the pump can’t reach the dregs in the bottom (tip – dilute with water!) so I’ve been using something else for the last couple of days and I can already feel dozens of bumpy breakout threats across my face. I think that much like the Liquid Gold it’s something I’m going to need to keep in my rotation just to stay balanced, you only see that really wow improvement in the initial phase. Oh and it smells AMAZING!! Full review here.
Soap & Glory Foam Call Body Wash £6.50
I usually buy the Clean On Me shower gel from S&G but fancied a change and bought this a few months ago and I think I actually prefer it. It’s a lot less sickly sweet and more unisex which is better for us as I share mine with my husband – although he will happily use anything and frequently spritzes himself with my ‘Mist You Madly’. I actually liked this so much I’d be tempted to get the ‘Butter Yourself’ when my ‘Righteous Butter’ runs out as it shares this scent.
This is my biggest extravagance when it comes to.. well anything I guess. Granted I didn’t pay for it, I actually won the buyapowa co-buy and got mine for free – I referred the most buyers, you can read their FAQs here. Regardless I am utterly in love with my Mia and if I had to shell out the cash to replace her I absolutely would! I wasn’t always so sure but my skin is so improved since I introduced it to my routine in January that I just couldn’t be without it now. Again like the liquid gold I like to think it’s helping my skin long term when it comes to anti-aging and warding off fine lines as well as keeping my skin smooth and clear.
Almost everything here is coming to the end of it’s life so you might see an update sooner than planned!
