WIN! Real Techniques Core Collection

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAFollowing on from my essential brush post on Monday I have a little giveaway for those of you still building your collections! I’m a huge Real Techniques fan – read my full review of their range here – there buffing brush is the only one I’ve ever been able to use for foundation and the domed brush in this set is my go to for highlighter.. I don’t use the others for their intended purposes but I figure they’re open to interpretation, right? I haven’t tried their bold metals collection yet but if you guys have let me know your thoughts. I’ve read mixed reviews so I’m not sure whether I will pick them up but if enough of you want to hear my take then I will – let me know.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Anyway, enough jibber jabber, all you need to do is enter through the above widget (it’s the fairest way I’ve found, in fact I wish I’d used it for my recent Makeup Revolution giveaway as I’m sure YouTube loses comments sometimes) and leave a comment below letting me know what the one brush is you couldn’t live without – apologies if you already told me on Monday when I asked, I thought it was the most relevant comment you could leave that might actually be interesting to other readers. It’s international so you can enter wherever you’re from and I will contact the winner in a weeks time.

Good Luck!

Miss BB

I bought the contour brush from the bold metals collection yesterday & i love it! I wasn’t sure it would blend as great because of how dense it is, but it really works. Its just SO beautiful sat on my dressing table too. I think it has to be my new fav brush πŸ™‚

The one brush that I couldn’t live without is my Avon face brush because I can literally use it for anything. Foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush, powder and highlight. It’s the perfect size for everything and fits in my makeup bag nicely. This also means that whenever I go somewhere, I only neev to take one brush for my face and I can take other makeup products instead of a lot of brushes. It’s my fave brush ever!!;)

So I had the real techniques buffer brush for Christmas and no joke it’s my savour! Foundation is now my favourite make up item to apply, rather than before when it was my all-time hate! The poor little brush is already looking a little worn as I literally use it 5 times a day (morning, topping updating the day and if I’m going out in the evening) and being a student, with only a part time job with a whole 6 hours a week (I work sooooo much, quite clearly… :|) I figured I’d apply to this competition as I’d love to try more of the real techniques brushes! Plus, I think it’s time I retire my current buffer brush as it’s done it’s duty! I love your blog and YouTube posts- definitely one of my favourites! xx

I always seem to buy superdrug own but found after you wash them they start to loose their shape and feel like badgers on your face. I recently thought as my student discount is coming to an end to purchase some real techniques. I brought the blusher brush and the face powder brush. These are amazing. I love how the blusher brush does a straight line, so can be used for contouring. I am thinking of going into town just to purchase the beauty blender, and the concealer brush. I have good eye brushes that blend lovely on eyes. Although still not getting the smokey eye instead of the black panda eyes. I would love to get some more brushes either way πŸ™‚ loving the videos. I use my cheap Avon angled eyeliner brush for my brows EVERY DAY!!!

  71. 18 February, 2015 / 10:04 am

I don’t think the Real Techniques brushes can be beat when it comes to the price to quality ratio. If I had to only pick one brush I couldn’t be without though would have to be my buffing brush, it gives a smooth, natural(ish) finish to any foundation without taking away too much of the coverage.

I really wanted to go the real techniques brushes once, but I’ve only started my makeup collection and thought they were a bit expensive. So instead I get some brushes from Poundland, which are amazing! I especially like the double ended eyeshadow brush and angled brush. I also got some brushes from a random shop, which I love, and they were only Β£4!

  96. 18 February, 2015 / 11:40 am

Mmmm. There are a few staples I have that I use almost everyday, but if I had to narrow it down and pick just one brush it would have to be my powder brush. I am currently using the Real Techniques one which is sturdy, big and fluffy and gets to all the places I want it to quickly.

I love the buffing brush! Foundation never sits right on my skin at all as it sinks into dry patches and then looks oily in others but finally, after years of avoiding all base products, I’ve found that using the buffing brush to buff in Collection Lasting Perfection concealer gives me a decent base.

And I’d be lost without the brow brush!

Technically not a brush but I do love the real techniques miracle complexion sponge – works so well for base products (also I’m too broke for a beauty blender)

    18 February, 2015 / 12:52 pm

It’s not really a brush but it would have to be the real techniques foundation sponge, blends my foundation and concealer beautifully!

I love me a stippling brush for foundation and concealer! Never tried any real techniques brushes cos I’m too much of a cheapskate so would love to win!

  119. 18 February, 2015 / 1:08 pm

I haven’t tried any Real Techniques brushes before. My current top two brushes are an e.l.f one which I use for my foundation – it isn’t actually a foundation brush though. I also love my blusher brush, something I’ve hunted a while for, it’s by Cosmopolitan and angled perfectly!

Wow hard to narrow it down to just one but if I had to it would prob have to be the real techniques buffing brush as I use it everyday to apply foundation or bb cream

My most favourite Real Techniques Brush as to be the Blush brush I think. I love it because it’s so big and fluffy and is excellent for applying blusher/bronzer to my face!!! I feel it gives the best application and doesn’t leave too much product in the one place and I feel able to put the brush all over my face without the fear of getting product where I do not want it! lol πŸ˜›
I also like the foundation brush too but the big fluffy brush is definitely the best! πŸ˜€ xoxoxo

My go-to brush has to be the buffing brush. It is so light weight and easy to use when I’m putting powder on my face – whether it be a setting powder of my anti-shine powder. I just love it.

  158. 18 February, 2015 / 4:29 pm

I love my MAC 214 short shader brush. It’s by far my favourite eye brush and works beautifully!

I couldn’t live without my Nanshy flat stippling brush! It’s excellent when you pat the Revlon colourstay foundation into the skin and doesn’t leave any brush marks on the face (which I find other brushes do when you buff this foundation into the skin). Would highly recommend anyone to purchase this brush to apply foundation for a full, non-streaky finish to the skin ❀️❀️❀️

  165. 18 February, 2015 / 5:10 pm

A flat-topped kabuki for buffing my foundation in. I have incredibly pale skin, and though I’ve found my HG foundation in terms of colour match it’s a very full coverage, so I find buffing it in really well helps make me look less like a ghost and more alive!

  168. 18 February, 2015 / 5:20 pm

My current body shop foundation brush has been a fav for an embarrassing amount of years!! I’m looking to replace it with a new fav… And these look just the ticket! Fingers crossed!

its between the duo fiber eye brush and the buffing brush. I do love all the ones I have though. Bold metals are amazing but quite pricey. Just need to build my collection πŸ™‚

I would be a mess if I didn’t have my angled eyebrow brush. Honestly, my eyebrows would be so tragic!

  241. 19 February, 2015 / 2:35 am

My holy grail brush is probably the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. Mine is actually getting a bit old now so its harder to use, but it used to be lovely and soft and buff in foundation like a dream. Plus if I was without a powder brush I could use to to apply my powder or even my concealer πŸ™‚ Such a great multi-purpose brush that is super affordable!

I couldn’t live without my blusher brush – I’ve tried and failed when it temporarily wandered out of my make-up bag without permission. I ended up up looking like Aunt Sally from Worzel Gummidge (link to pic for anyone who’s unfamiliar with Aunt Sally: http://www.themakeupgallery.info/various/stat/worzel.htm) and had to take my make-up off and start again πŸ™

Yay what an amazing & generous giveaway! I would love to add to my brush collection with this RT set! My current fave brush is my new sigma F80 – flat kabuki, though it seems to soak up quite a bit of my foundation x

  369. 23 February, 2015 / 4:38 am

I pretty much use my Real Techniques miracle complexion sponge for most things which is great and on par with the Beautyblender. However brush wise, I have a set of 10 brushes by Jessup which I got on eBay for around Β£10 which are awesome Sigma dupes and totally worth a look!

I’m a bit of a novice on make-up. I’m learning slowly. I’m terrible for using my fingers for everything, primer, foundation, eye-shadow etc! So I don’t actually own any brushes πŸ™ Sorry to make anyone wince and squirm. I need to get some brushes and stop using my fingers. Again I’m learning slowly. lol.

I don’t know if you can categorize it as a brush, but I love my beauty blender. I’ve recently started enjoying doing my make up and I haven’t really gotten to by any β€œreal brushes”. But I’ve heard a lot of good things about Real Techniques.

My favourite brush is the simple fan brush which I use to apply HD powder. Most other products I could, in a pinch, apply with my fingers or straight from the tube/pencil etc., but not that.

Real Techniques is still a brand I haven’t tried (other than their Miracle Complexion Sponge, which I am super impressed with!). I don’t know why, maybe it was all the hype when they first launched that put me off, but I think I will be investing in some soon. The Wilkos own brand brushes really impressed me and are definitely becoming more of a staple in my collection!

  417. Sydney K

That’s a tough one, I think a toss up between MAC 217 and MAC 168, 217 is an obvious choice (but so useful) however the 168 gives my moon face some serious definition.
    I think 168!
