Bathtime Treats

Today I wanted to share some of my favourite bathtime treats when the nights get darker and it’s colder outside. I always feel more like pampering myself at this time of year and these products really do the trick without breaking the bank – except that cheeky one on the end which is crazy expensive but I had to include.

LUSH Let The Good Times Roll – link

I have never been a big LUSH fan, I thought it was overpriced and a bit trendy to be honest. It’s a bit of a ‘thing’ in the blogging world to talk about bath bombs and such and whenever something gets too much love I automatically shy away from it. This year however I decided to embrace the fun of the glitter and fizz and give the Christmas ones a go. Part of the festive line up is this cleanser (though I’m told it’s been made permanent now) which I expected to hate but I’m totally in love with. It smells like caramel, leaves me skin super smooth and has bits of popcorn in it!! WHAT?? It leaves an oily residue behind which is the part I thought I wouldn’t enjoy but I really do, maybe it’s the weather but I like that it’s heavier and seriously.. the smell!! I will absolutely be repurchasing when I run out and when I do I’ll take some photos and show you properly.

Sanctuary 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask – £10.50

This has been top of my list on the face mask front for months now, it’s expensive but if used sparingly it lasts for absolutely ages and definitely works out at less than a pound per application so considering how many of those Montagne Jeunesse masks I buy I will feel justified in replacing this when it does eventually die. Unlike most thermal masks this one really does feel warm and if you wear it in a hot bath it stays that way. A day or two after using it I do usually get a couple of minor breakouts but that just proves it’s doing it’s job and clearing out my skin.. I have A LOT of face masks I love but I will never be without this one.

Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean – £8.00

Do I even need to talk about this?? I use it as a chemical exfoliant mask, much the same way as I would the REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal only for a great deal less money. The ingredients are nothing alike but it does the same thing for me, leaves my skin super smooth and glowy. You can use it as a cleanser but don’t wash it off straight away, leave it a couple of minutes to actually do something and you will love it. As always when I mention this I do want to add the disclaimer that some people have had bad reactions to this and if you have very sensitive skin I wouldn’t recommend it but that being said people have told me they react to everything and this was fine for them so maybe just.. be careful.

Organic Surge 2 Minute Moisture Mask – £6.99

A lovely mask from a lovely brand. I love Organic Surge but the shampoo/conditioners I’ve tried haven’t impressed me all that much. When it comes to hair care the more silicones and chemicals the better in my book, it’s only hair and ultimately I want it to look and feel good more than I want it to be actually good, haha. So natural/organic products in the past haven’t really done it for me but this is great, very hydrating and leaves my hair smoother and less frizzy.. oh and as with everything from OS it smell delish!

Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Bath Oil – £39

Ahh.. the pièce_de_résistance. We all heard the big time bloggers and YouTubers rave about Aromatherapy Associates last year and quite frankly I thought they were off their rockers paying £40 for a bath oil. Given that these are the people that also buy from brands like Diptique & Joe Malone on the regular I just assumed that they were used to paying up the wazoo for what you can buy elsewhere for less. Long story short, I was wrong. I was sent this as part of a Christmas gift set to feature in my guide this year and I wasn’t going to use it until I’d made the video but I buckled one evening and had to try it. Literally one cap full of this oil in a huge tub of water and the entire house is filled with the scent and when I emerge from the bath I am coated in it too. How does it do that? It’s like it multiplies on contact with water or something but I seriously am so impressed that I will absolutely buy it again! Also, this particular scent really does make me sleep better, providing I go straight to bed after my bath I’m asleep in 10 minutes and that’s me til morning.. unless Milo has his way of course.

I have an after bath follow up post coming in a couple of days covering all of the lotions and potions I slather on my skin after soaking in the tub so look out for that!

Makes me miss having a bath. Showers suck! When I move out I’m definitely going to look for a bath/shower combo than just a shower. Can’t wait to pamper myself with all the goodies again!
