Yankee Candle Waikiki Melon

IMG_9577

Before we start, lets have a little catch up of my many illnesses, shall we? My Tonsillitis is on it’s way out thanks to the antibiotics but I might just have impetigo.. WTF? I mentioned the breakout I recently suffered from, right? Well I had a breakout on my cheek and a small scratch near my eye and I’m fairly certain that something I used infected both and then that infection spread. I’ve been home for a week but I went in to work today and I guess I didn’t know how bad it was but a few people suggested Impetigo – the only thing making me doubt it is I was at the doctors 2 days ago and she never mentioned it.. also it’s highly contagious and none of my family have contracted it.. I have no idea but I’m having just about the worst luck and it reminds me that negativity breeds negativity. It’s a domino effect and I can’t help but wonder if the tonsillitis, the breakout and this new ailment are connected.. a little positive thinking can’t hurt, can it?

ANYWAY, ON TO THE REVIEW..

I haven’t been using many beauty products of late due to all of the above but candles and sweet smelling body products have taken my affections. This is by far my favourite candle of the moment, there aren’t all that many spring/summer scents that I love but this definitely makes the list. I find many of them to be too sweet or floral and heady but this is fresh and fruity, a really true Melon scent. I might not like the fruit but the fragrance is delicious. I always envy my US bloggers who have access to Bath & Bodyworks and their epic selection so I’m excited to find something I want to rave about here in the UK. Yankee Candles (link to this one here) are definitely my first choice when it comes to what’s readily available here, they burn the strongest and the longest but for those wondering Kringle is a close second and they have a more extensive range too – if you’re interested the link is here

As always your recommendations are very welcome, nothing too sweet or foodie..

I’m so with you on the positive thinking! Hope things pick up for you soon.
Recently made my first foray into Yankee Candle with their salted caramel tea lights, super sweet but I like!

Really hope you get better soon, it’s awful having one thing after another isn’t it!

it is and so unlike anything I’d usually pick up. It really does suck at the moment and seriously.. impetigo? lol.. I’ve never had so much as a cold sore or a patch of eczema so it’s rather annoying 🙁

I had impetigo while living on a boat with 6 other people… none of them got it! I’d been a bit unwell too- it’s definitely something that strikes when your immunity is low! The doctor I saw eventually told me it was common in young children (fabulous riiight?!) Anyway, might be worth getting it checked because it can get bad pretty quick.
Hope you feel better soon 🙂

You can buy a selection of Victorias Secret, The Balm, Eos and B&BW from bathandbodyshop.co.uk their based in Coventry. I used to order from them when I lived there, much cheaper than US mail forwarding companies shipping charges. I recommend them. No I don’t work for them and I’m not sponsored by them – I’m just spreading the word!

I love this candle. Another favourite of mine is beach flowers and luau party. I was really liking the scents from woodwick but found that their wick caused soot marks on my walls and ceiling which is really disappointing the crackling noise was great in the winter since I don’t have an open fire. I can’t justify spending that much money on a candle but I love Yankee candles so I’m always buying the little sampler ones that are like £1.80 or something. Two of those are the same size as a small jar candle but the small jars are about £8 compared to £3.60 for the same amount of product in the sample sizes.
