Carrying on yesterdays Halloween theme today we’re talking candles. Yankee bring out a range of themed candles for most season but they seem to get extra creative at Halloween and the jars are so cool this year that I can’t see my throwing Witches Brew away once it’s burned out. My parents have a big party every year and I’ve been burning this every day since I got it in an effort to make use of the spooky translucent black glass design for this years festivities. I suspected that once it burned down a little you’d be able to see something of a eerie glow from within the jar and you can indeed so it will make a great votive for future parties and general seasonal decoration.
Moving on from the awesome outer lets talk about the actual candle inside shall we? I’m not a fan of super sweet, foodie scents so I wasn’t sure I’d love anything from the Halloween selection (candy corn is perhaps my least favourite ever) but this was just so unexpected. It’s got a spicy, smokey quality that does lend itself to the theme well but could also be repackaged as some other generic winter name and work just as well. To be specific the Yankee site says “The spicy sweet aroma of exotic patchouli casts a captivating spell!” and though I am just rubbish at identifying notes in a scent I would agree that it is captivating and there’s something very warm and wintry about it.
You can purchase this medium jar online here for £16.99 or take advantage of the 2 for £30 offer they are currently running on these seasonal scents. I am very tempted to stock up on this one before it disappears to make way for Christmas – equally as exciting though
