I don’t know about you but I try to keep the time it takes to apply my makeup in the morning to an absolute minimum. With two kids to get ready and ship off to day care before work I would rather have the extra 10 minutes in bed (if the little one allows) than preening just to sit at a desk all day. That being said I absolutely could NOT be without makeup entirely, above are some amazing products that helped me create the below look in an instant. There are no brushes required for this which makes the whole process that bit quicker.. not to mention not having to WASH the brushes later!!
Day to day I don’t need a great deal of coverage so I just added a little of the Instant Light Brush-On Perfector under my eyes, around my nose and on my chin. It both conceals and illuminates so does the job of two products.. another time saver. I always define my eye before I do my blush so I can adjust the intensity depending on how bold I go with my eye makeup. I already know the Ombre Minerale Eyeshadow in Taupe is going to be a favourite for me, my eyes are hooded so I don’t like anything too dark on my lid and this is just deep enough to define them without making them look smaller. To top it off I used the Crayon Kohl in Intense Brown – I didn’t intend to be quite so smoky with the liner but it’s so soft, I got carried away with the blender on the other end.. it’s the easiest smoky eye I’v ever managed to create.. and completely by accident. I finished off my eyes with a slick of Be Long Mascara.. just the kind of brush I love, really lengthens and separates my nothing-to-write-home-about-lashes and smaller enough to get into the lower lashes too.
To add a little colour I used the Multi-Blush in Rosewood – which by the way packs some serious punch, you don’t need much at all – and a little of the Instant light Natural Lip Perfector in Apricot Shimmer. I’ve heard SO much about these lip balm/gloss hybrid and they really are as lovely as they say, very sheer but hydrating and not at all sticky. I did of course have to add in brows and powder my oily t-zone but they’re so essential I barely even count them as steps these days. This whole look look me less than 10 minutes and even with a full base I think I could do it in that time.. perfect for my hectic mornings and on the weekend when I might not want to make quite so much effort I could skip the shadow/liner and do it in 5!
Clarins has always been well known for their skin care which I’ve used in the past but this is the first time I’ve tried anything from their makeup range and I’m really impressed. The range is very much about making the most of what you already have rather than masking your natural beauty. You can feel the skincare element at the heart of their cosmetics, everything is designed to perfect and illuminate by making you look healthy and natural.
Beauty writer, Sali Hughes has created 3 looks which can be achieved in either 5, 10 or 15 minutes using Clarins products which can be seen below. If you are in a time crunch or just don’t want to be a slave to your vanity every morning they’re really interesting and you may discover some new products to add in to your daily routine.
