#30in30 Burts Bees Carolina Coast
I've had two of these sitting on my desk for weeks in part of my collection for this mini series and I hadn't used wither until today. I expected a very sheer wash of colour and a balmy texture with a fruity scent.. much the same as most of these crayon style lip products but it couldn't be further removed from that. The finish is a little creamy but it's far more opaque than you might think and not at all balmy. Burts Bee's isn't a high end brand but it's not super cheap either and packaging aside had you given me this is a plain tube I'd have thought it was a very low budget product. It's waxy in both texture and scent - I mean it smells like an old school wax crayon - and just not pleasant to apply or to wear.
As I said I do have two of these so I will be including the other later in the month and we'll see whether it's the whole line or just this one that's a dud but all in all.. a disappointment! I expected to love this and for it to be one of those handbag staples for those times you just need a little colour on the go but it's more like a cheap lipstick in crayon form - and that's barely even fair anymore since cheap doesn't necessarily mean bad thanks to brands like Makeup Revolution.. this is just.. not good.
You can find these lip crayons online here - link - have you tried them? What did you think?
