ALL NEW STUFF / August '17
So I let the whole 'post every day in August' slide EVER SO SLIGHTLY by not posting at all yesterday. Oh and also completely forgetting the twitter chat I organised TWICE. Really knocking this blogger thing out of the park, aren't I? On the YouTube front however I've been putting out more beauty related content lately and yesterday I shared a video trying out a bunch (sorry, reader who hates the use of that word) of new stuff and promised a follow-up on my blog after I'd had a few more days with the products.. so here we are.Urban Decay Chill Setting SprayI am loving this stuff! I use it as my primer and throughout my makeup application. I'm not 100% sold on setting sprays in general but this is so refreshing and feels hydrating so I am enjoying the journey all the same. It may not be entirely the right one for my oily skin but I do find some others to be very drying whereas this isn't at all.Revlon Youth FX Foundation in Buff & Concealer in LightNot a fan. The texture of the foundation is moussey and although initially I was pleasantly surprised that it seemed to blend well and almost melt on contact with my skin, up close the finish wasn't flattering. The concealer I could work with but both were heavier than I would usually use. The range is designed for more mature skin so I was surprised that see it settling around my fine lines, dry areas and pores.. just not for me.Tony Moly Cats Meow PowderNot new but since I'm listing everything else. This is a lovely powder for both setting and touching up, very fine and never cakey. Available online but I've spotted a lot of Tony Moly (including this) in my local TK Maxx recentlyB. Lip & Cheek Tint in BashfulI didn't find this incredibly easy to blend with my finger tips and had to enlist a brush to buff once I panicked that I'd applied too much. It's on the drier side though which I definitely prefer for finish and longevity and so it's a bit of a 'can't have it all' situation. I'd use it again and if you're in to cream blush I'd say it's one to try.Revlon Colorstay Creme Eyeshadow in 720I loved the colour of this! The brush that comes with it is too dense to blend the colour out nicely but once I used something softer it was really easy to work with. It did crease but as previously mentioned I am oily and I didn't prime my lids so.. what did I expect? I will definitely try more of these if they bring out a larger shade range.NYX Epic Ink LinerI was so hopeful for this!! I have had the worst luck with liquid eyeliner lately, nothing seems to last any amount of time on me at all so something claiming to be waterproof sounded promising. Unfortunately it wasn't opaque even at the start and it did break down over a day in the office. It's definitely better than some I've tried but it didn't live up to my expectations. the brush tip applicator however was very easy to use and reminiscent of the Kat Von D Tattoo liner so if you don't have the same issues I do you may love this stuff.Bourjois Volume Reveal Waterproof MascaraI purchased this on the recommendation of Lindsey Kelk & Harriet Hadfield on their podcast 'Full Coverage'. They said it was 100% better than the non-waterproof formula, that Harriet is prone to watery eyes and smudgy mascara but loved this stuff and I believe Lindsey had been swimming and it remained intact? While I can't vouch for it's water resistancy I do like the lift and definition and can confirm that it's nothing like the original.Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Don't Pink Of ItLastly an oldie but a goodie in a new colour. I haven't reached for my Bourjois liquid lipsticks in the longest time and given my absolute obsession with all things liquid lipstick that really is a sin because it's good stuff. It is drying (more so than I remember) but it lasts and the colour range is awesome! So there's my run down of yesterdays video face, I've been testing these products for about a week now off and on but my day test was a day in an air-conditioned office so if you want to see the application and rewind to a time when I still had hope for most of these products you can watch the video here.
