Drunk Elephant Baby Facial + UK Dupe?

About a year ago; the night before I was due to head out to New York with my friend Charl, I met with a beauty PR who told me that I had to get my hands on the Drunk Elephant Baby Facial while I was there. I hadn't heard of the brand and couldn't find it in Sephora (out of stock) so thought nothing else of it.Flash forward and it is EVERYWHERE!! The brand has even come to the UK and all the big timers are talking about it. So when I was in the US recently I picked up the mini (God bless Sephora minis) and gave it a go. This is  good stuff! Its is crazy expensive but if you love a chemical exfoliator as much as I love a chemical exfoliator then you are going to want to try this.I put it on my Black Friday wishlist in a post last week and some kind reader broke the news to me that this particular product (the one that I believe made the brand so famous across the pond) is in fact not available here in the UK. W. T. F? Well that sucks, doesn't it? I was planning to paypal my friend (who's visiting in a few weeks) some cash to bring me back a bottle when I started to wonder.. isn't there anything I've used that's been as good? The general idea is that it's a quick, was off treatment that removes all those built up dead skin cells and leaves you with a baby smooth face.. and I felt like I'd had that sensation before. It took me a while but I remembered, The Ordinary do an AHA 'peel' that gives very similar results in a less luxurious (but considerable more affordable) way. Now, I'm not skin expert, I'm not going to get in to the ingredients or how they compare formula-wise because that's not my bag and there are plenty of others who can do that science stuff. I'm here to tell you that if you a) can't get your hands on or b) can't justify the cost of the Baby Facial then you can c) give The Ordinary a go!In-use, the DE one is much nicer to apply, a slightly gel-like texture with very little tingle. The Ordinary is much more liquid, red in colour (one to remember if you may need to answer the door) and did sting a little. I don't mind the pain factor because I'm used to at-home acids at this point but if you're very sensitive it may be something you need to work up to. Bottom line, I think both products gave me very similar skin and now I've made the connection I'll be saving myself a bundle - until I can get my hands on a mini again for special occasions ;)
