GLAMGLOW BrightMud

I've had this post waiting in the wings for absolutely ages because I just wasn't sure how I felt about this product and honestly even now I don't think I am but it's about time I wrote it up. If I don't know now I probably never will and isn't that the review, really? I've only had one previous experience with Glam Glow and that was a teeny tiny sample of the original mask. I wasn't impressed but given the serious hype I assumed I just didn't have enough of it. Fast forward more than a year later and I spot these Bright Mud pods in my local Tk Maxxfor an absolute steal.. I forget the price exactly but I want to say they were around £15 (£20 max) which is a bargain compared to the £45 RRP!!! I would never have bought them full price BUT I have to review them as such because they're still selling and still popular at that cost.

So what's in the box? You get 12 duo pods, so 12 uses with one single pod for each eye. It all looks very luxe and sciencey when you open it up but when you peel back the foil lid it's not entirely what you might expect. I thought it would be a pale, spa blue gel or something, instead it's a little bit gross truth be told. My youngest has made multiple comments about what the mask looks like whilst I'm wearing it that I'm sure I don't need to clarify for you.. but I assume this is because it's all good stuff rather than superficial stuff. If it doesn't LOOK (taste, smell, feel etc etc) nice then it must be doing you good and all that.

Screen Shot 2015-10-09 at 09.35.28So I popped on one pod per eye and left them for around 15 minutes for this photo. Since then I've used them a couple of times and can tell you I get very similar results from splitting a pod so if you want to stretch them and get a little more for your money I'd say you probably can.. I definitely will. I've left them on for 5 minutes with again very similar results but DON'T leave them on for too long. It took me years to realise that leaving a face mask on until it's so dry it's flaking off your skin is actually detrimental. It soaks up ALL the moisture from your skin to hydrate itself before it gets to that point and that's just not what you want around your eye area!! I'd say 15/20minutes max - for me anyway. You can judge for yourself from the before/after as to whether you think it VISUALLY made much difference, the skin definitely felt smoother and I can see fewer fine lines, everything is a little plumper but I'm not sure it did MUCH for my dark circles. I'd be interested to hear from those of you who've tried these Bright Mud eye masks as you never really know with these things if your ailment is bad ENOUGH to see improvement but I did like the way it made my skin FEEL. Not enough to drop £45 for 12 uses but if I ever saw it on mega sale again I might pick it up.

Available online here / EDIT - just found it here for marginally cheaper
