House Of GlamDolls Palettes
Another late one today but I really wanted to post this before bed. Freedom launched their new palettes yesterday (a day early - I wasn't prepared) so there's been some buzz and I wanted to get up my review/swatches asap. I wont bore you will quality of shadows spiel, they're hit and miss, 90% are excellent but there's the odd shade (the very pale usually) that don't quite cut it. The brow powders are all good as are the highlights and blushes however the lip colours vary. Whether they're intentionally different formula's colour to colour I'm not sure but some are much bolder, others are more like a tinted balm.
Excuse the less than crisp swatches, I know I'm not the only one cursing this grey weather right now! I swear we only had 20 minutes of daylight today. There's a huge variety of colours across the range so there's definitely potential for the collector (me) to 'need' them all but they are designed as more of a look in a box than a regular shadow palette. Each kit has 4 brow powders, 3 highlights, 2 cheek colours, 4 lip colours and 10 shadows. That's pretty amazing for £8 and brilliant for travel, you'd really only need your base/mascara/liner and you're good to go! All of the colour you could possibly need in one very compact package.
Each palette has the same brow/highlight powder selection except for Fairy Doll which has the vibrant red brow powder rather than the 'blonde' shade. That's definitely directed at a more creative audience but it's one of my favourites. If you're a fair weather experimenter what a great multipurpose product to have in your stash for those occasions when you want to add a 'pop of colour' - cliché, sorry. Each palette was put together in collaboration with House Of GlamDolls (who you can read about here) and in each box is a step by step guide to achieving each of the 4 looks. I love the idea that there's an educational element for those who want more guidance and that you can see that look on the box and know that not only are you buying what you need to create it but you're also getting a handy how-to from a bona-fide makeup school. If you want to see me chatter about these palettes you can watch the below video.. don't forget to subscribe to the Freedom channel for more review videos from me ;)
