How Often Is Too Often?

I wrote this post about 3 years ago and to date it's one of my most popular so I thought I'd freshen it up with an update and an original image (I'm getting nervous of the old stock photography I used to pinch from Google Images after hearing horror stories about people being taken to court over copyright infringement!!)

The whole topic came up when I was chatting on twitter about hair removal and it became obvious that in shaving my legs EVERY DAY I was in a very select minority. At the time I said - 'Some people can leave them for months!! To me that's the equivalent of not washing my hair for that long, at some point I associated smooth legs with feeling fresh and clean and I feel grubby going more than a day, I'm starting to consider it somewhat OCD. I have been known to get up in the middle of the night to do them 'cause I can't sleep!!' - I've gone through phases in my life where this obsession gets the better of me but I'm back to a slightly more reasonable every third day routine right now. If I could be BOTHERED I'd do them every day but I've weaned myself off the NEED to. I once left them 2 weeks intending to have them waxed only to be told that I'd be looking at another 2 before all the hairs had grown out enough.. so waxing is off the table. I wax elsewhere for comfort but but my legs and my underarms will be my forever chore. I envy those who can just stop shaving altogether in the winter, I can FEEL the hair under my jeans, drives me NUTS!

So my question to twitter which I am extending to you is, How Often Is Too Often?

I try to be diligent in moisturising after shaving as I'm aware the more regularly I do it the more sensitive my skin could become but I'm not particularly concerned about it. I do go through a fair few razors, I suppose and the time spent shaving my legs could possibly be better spent but I can't see any major downsides. I know I would be uncomfortable (literally, not emotionally) after longer than 3 days but I'm fascinated by other peoples time lines so tell me, what's your magic number?
