Latest In Beauty Awards - My Picks
I've had this post ready to go for a week and it SHOULD have gone up on Thursday but I've had a some ridiculous #bloggerproblems so apologies that it's so close to the wire BUT I thought it was still worth sharing. Latest In Beauty are in the midst of their very first beauty awards and they want your help to narrow down their extensive shortlist and pick the winners. LIB will be putting together a 'winners box' which you can be in with a chance of winning if you tweet a photo of your ideal beauty box created in their online store - link. I received samples of everything on the list and chose the items I'd like to see in the box.
I'm going to start with the one that veteran MissBB readers/viewers might have spotted as unusual, Philip Kingsley's Elasticizer. NOT my favourite product by any means, I've spoken on many occasions about the fact it did nothing for my hair in any state of damage over the past few years BUT It's a cult product. It's something a lot of people would run out and buy on one of the thousands of recommendations and it's EXPENSIVE so I'd rather everyone got a trial size before stumping up the cash.
I'm a huge fan of skin oils and this Melvita L'Or Bio Extraordinary Oil is super silky but light. It absorbs quicker than your average oil leaving my skin velvety smooth. You can also use it on your hair! Nothing groundbreaking but it was my favourite serum/oil from the selection.
I included 2 lip balms because I just couldn't narow it down. Burts Bees make the best daytime balms for me, so fresh and minty, not too thick and goopy.. even my husband has them both by his bed and in his car. The Carmex is a little more instensive and one I'd reserve for overnight treats or wintertime!
The Body Shop Miracle Solid Oil from the Argan range says it's suitable for hair AND body but I'd really only use it for the former. I used to have a coconute shine version from them I loved and this took its place nicely. Gives a nice sheen to dull hair without being as messy as a conventional oil. Smells nice too.
Little Ondine Polish has been a bit of a relevation and I will do a proper NOTD review post soon but in short it's natural and PEEL OFF! I can't quite believe it's the first of its kind that I've tried but I might have to pick up some other colours.. I'm not a red nail kinda gal really but it's super quick to apply, dry and remove so.. WINNER!
Last pick was technically not my pick at all.. it was my daughters.. As soon as she spotted the Zoella bar in the box she pounced on it and I subsequently had to buy another for this shot. I don't do a lot of bath bombs myself (although I just discovered LUSH Bubbleroons.. post on that to come) but she loves them so I didn't mind her pinching it. You don't get any incredible whizz pop bang type action with this but it smells nice and the chocolate bar design means you can snap off a cube or two per bath and make it last longer than your average LUSH experience. She was a fan so I thought I'd include it.
I still love beauty boxes and the occasional edits that come out from LIB are some of my favourites compared to the monthly subscription services but wouldn't it be fun to create your own? You can vote for your favourites on the LIB site here and create your own dream box while you're there. Don't forget to share your pictures for a chance to win the final winners box!
