LUSH Haul / Autumn
Remember I mentioned those many screwed up images I had after messing with my camera settings? Well I decided to use them anyway. I picked up some season bits from Lush a couple of weeks ago and having used all of them now I can give you a little first impressions/review of each rather than just your average show and tell style haul..
Rose Jam Shower GelOne of the reasons I went in to begin with, I love the smell of this stuff and it only available at this time of year!! If you like the Rose Jam Bubble Rune (am I spelling that correctly??) or the Ro's Argan Body Conditioner you will love this too. It's just a basic shower gel really but I can't get enough of it and because it's seasonal and I never bulk buy, it reminds me of Christmas.Floating IslandI've been quite keen on these miniature bath oils from Lush in the past since they're cheaper than their bath bomb brothers yet for me seem to offer more real skincare benefits.. this was a bit of a let down however. It's more solid than the others I've tried and I didn't really get that residue that leaves my skin feeling soft and nourished. Not one I'd purchase again.Autumn LeafThis is the first bath bomb in as long as I can remember that I actually used myself.. the kids didn't even know it was in the house!! It reminded me that I prefer the simpler oils, bubble bars and moisturising treats but it was a nice change to get a 'Lush bath' all to myself I liked the scent but honestly? Bath bombs just aren't my bag.. I'll save them for the kids next time.Lemony Flutter Cuticle ButterThis was actually the number one reason for my visit that day.. I'd just spent the weekend with Lex and we were about to do out TalontedKhila series of nail art but my cuticles are always horribly dry and flaky.. she recommended this and it was a stellar suggestion. A very thick paste that melts on contact with warm skin but absorbs easily, the perfect night time treat for dry cuticles like mine.Salted Coconut Hand ScrubAnother product Lex suggested was this hand scrub, I've been using it religiously and I do think it's doing something but I cannot get over the scent. It smells exactly like playdough.. EXACTLY! It's obviously the salt but I've used many a salt scrub over the years and none have been so off putting, the scent lingers on my hands too so once I'm done with this it won't be one I go back for.Golden Handshake Hot Hand MaskThis was another fail for me unfortunately, the assistant in store told me it was something you could melt in hot water and use as a mask all over your hands however the directions and the way the product works suggest it's more of a handsoak which is less practical for me. You can get a few uses from it and I've used it twice but my hands felt no more moisturised after either go.. it was just a messy waste of time. Boo Bath MeltI know I said Floating Island wasn't my thing but Boo left my water frothy and inviting, the scent was just as subtle and calming but dropping its little ghost face in to the water was creepy satisfying. I liked this one, my skin felt improved after I used it and I would buy it again. Another cute but possibly more adult bath treat from Lush.Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub I don't scrub/condition my lips nearly often enough but every Christmas I pick up a lip scrub from Lush and it lasts me until one of the kids throws it in the bath. I love them, so simple, really not much more than sugar but the different scents motivate me to reach for them at bath time and my lips are never smoother than when I have one in stock.FUN Elf On The ShelfLastly, I know I'm jumping the gun a bit.. it's not even officially been Halloween yet BUT, I love this little guy and will bring him out as often as possible. When I saw Lush had released an Elf On The Shelf colour way of their popular 'FUN' play dough style soap I couldn't resist. I'll post more on this later but one word of warning.. don't leave your FUN models out on display.. they melt.. it's MESSY!
