Spring Beauty Essentials / March Edit
I both love and hate the change in seasons, I suffer mad headaches and mood swings but I can't wait for a change in temperature, wardrobe and to switch up my beauty routine. As we come out of the icy cold months in to Spring I'm looking to revive my tired eyes and dull skin and inject some colour.. here are some of my recent favourites helping me do just that..MASQUE BAR - DARK CIRCLE REDUCER - £9.99 for 5I have spoken at length about these in the past but for those of you who haven't heard me before, settle in. I don't have particularly dark circles so I cannot speak to their effectiveness for that but I did develop pretty bad pigmentation around my eyes while having Milo (5 years ago) and these are the only things that have ever made a difference.. and a big one!! The marks always get worse in Summer but they fade dramatically when I wear these overnight and an added benefit is that my under eyes look and feel incredibly smooth afterwards to. All the thumbs up from me.EMBRYOLISSE - RADIANT EYE - £15.35Did you ever try 4Head? The non-medicinal headache treatment? If so you will be familiar with the cooling sensation and the packaging of this product.. they're almost identical except for the menthol. I think that might sting a bit in a product designed for your under eyes!! I'm not sure this does anything long term but I do enjoy the refreshing feel and my tired eyes do look less puffy when I use this first thing.. also absolutely fine under my makeup!MAYBELLINE - AGE REWIND BRIGHTENER - £6.40Every time I mention this I say 'I don't think this colour is available in the UK' and every time several people tell me I'm wrong but I believe the brightener is a US only launch which I've been holding on to for far too long because I'm yet to find a replacement. I may have to bite the bullet and try MAC's Radiant Rose but I would love to find a low cost brightening concealer (more pale and pink that Touche Eclat) because this really gives my that wide awake look while having a super light texture and not settling in to any of my fine lines.BEE GOOD - NECTA PERFECTA BEAUTIFYING MASK - £35.00This was a really unexpected favourite for me, a thick balm that I couldn't see working as a mask on my oily skin but it's so versatile. I use it as a deep cleanse/mask on my face and remove with a hot cloth, I use it all over my body after a shower/bath as an 'oil' as it melts on the skin, I also use it on the ends of my hair overnight as a treatment and even as a massage balm. It's such a multi-tasker, I just wish I'd had it in the Winter!MAC EYESHADOWS - CORAL & PARADISCO - £10.00I mentioned in a video earlier this month that I was going to push myself to wear more colour and I am completely converted via these two very Spring looking coral shadows. Coral is matte and Paradisco is a beautiful pinky/coral with a golden sheen. Easier to wear than you might think but if you're a little nervous of a bold lid colour, try sweeping a little over your crease for a kind of 'sunrise 'effect. LOVE it!BENEFIT - DOUBLE THE LIP NUDE SCANDAL - £16.50If you missed my review you can see the swatches of this range (and the eyeshadows) here, I wasn't sure I'd like these but I really do. They're a great summer alternative to the matte liner/lipstick combination I've been wearing over the past 6 months. A little sheer with a built in liner contrast to give the illusion of a plumper '3D' pout in one tube. Nude Scandal has been my go to since I've been wearing more colour on my lids.
