WEEKLY WINS #12
I accidentally skipped this last week and I had that ‘well you missed one so you can’t do this anymore’ feeling.. but we’re not doing that anymore so we shall breeze passed the missing post and get on to the matter at hand
MY HAIR
Not really, that’s a different post entirely but that has been such a huge weight on my mind that I do think it has something to do with my missing the last check in. I decided I was going to cut all (almost all) my hair off 2 weeks ago and because I had to WAIT for my appointment, I’ve been in the worlds longest holding pattern ever since. Rather than be excited, I was legitimately SAD. I felt so low, I didn’t want to talk to anyone and it wasn’t because I didn’t want to do it, I honestly think the waiting causes me pain. It’s irrational but knowing that doesn’t make me feel any better. All that aside, I SURVIVED the fortnight and am actually glad I had to wait now. It’s a huge change and if I’d been able to do it on a whim, I may be suffering with some pre-remorse now. Because I had so long to build myself up to it, I’m really happy with the decision. An oddly painful lesson.
A PODCAST
Did I mention this last time? I forget but I’m 3 deep in to the candle making podcast with Jason Finney of Suffolk Candles and I am really enjoying it. Emma and I have been waiting to do a youtube podcast for at least a year and haven’t pulled the trigger. A few weeks in to the one with Jason and I’m going to make a move with Emma next week. It’s going to be a chat each week about a different topic and it will be on video rather than just audio. That will fill a content slot for youtube so I feel like that alone will make me more likely to keep it up.. and I need a second person to stop it from becoming unbearably self indulgent.
DECLUTTER
I got rid of SO much stuff this week. I have no designs on minimalism, in fact I’m working on somewhat of a maximalist office design right now, but I do enjoy a good cull. I’m working through things steadily and having hung some clothing wall racks (praise the IKEA boaxel) I now have so much more storage space and a new energy for getting rid of the things that are truly no use to me anymore - my hair??
A quick one this week cause I’m out the door to London now. Lee and I are taking our first solo trip leaving the kids home alone so I’m nervous but we’re driving so we know we can get back and we’re going to see a show we couldn’t take the kids to anyway. Fingers crossed it all goes well and I hope you all have a productive, if not fabulous bank holiday weekend!
