Real Techniques / Multitech
Since I went on an unitentional hiatus there are a bunch of things I had photographed and ready to blog that I've now been using for months and can give a real review of, this brush set is one of them. Now, I have to admit.. I haven't reached for EVERY one of these.. infact I'm still yet to use the sponge or the Kabuki as well as the tiniest of the eye brushes BUT the ones I have been using have made it in to my regular rotation. The Large Point Brush - £15.99 (the second in from the left - the first is XL) has been my go to for .. foundation! I was initially using is for cheek products until I saw a Pixiwoo video where Nic used it for her BB cream.. I don't know whether it's suitable for heavier foundations but since I err on the side of light anyway I thought I'd give it a go and I love the finish. As someone who historically loves to apply everything with my hands (it's just quicker, easier and I know it will look natural) there are very few brushes I've really enjoyed using over the years but this is one of my absolute favourites now.The other 4 come in a Small Point makeup set for £29.99 and honestly? much as I like a couple of them, I don't think I'd recommend it. The 'Small' is great for concealer and the XXS I've used to smudge out liner on my lower lash line but I can't really find a use for the other two. That's just me and remember I am not a heavy eye makeup kinda gal so they may be right up your street but I think at £30 I'd want to be putting all 4 of them to good use and the domed shape makes them less versatile than other brushes I own. This range is exclusive to Superdrug and as with all of the Real Techniques line, the brushes are quality and feel subtantial but for me they're just a touch on the expensive side. If they're on offer then go for the large face brushes cause I love them and if you just have to have one the XL is the one I think is the most unique but if you've already amassed a collection of RT brushes you may not feel like the others add much to your arsenal. I really do wish that small one was sold seperately.
