Solar Powder

S&G GLOW ALL OUT URBAN DECAY CHILL PRIMERSince our trip to the desert in May I've been absolutely obsessed with face powders that give a subtle glow. Basically anything that's trying (and succeeding) to emulate the Hourglass Ambient Light effect. I've dabbled in the past but I really fell in love when the climate was dry and my oily skin took a breather, I finally understood the hype. A little dusting of natural highlight finally gave me that 'lit from within' look I'd heard so much about and I've been trying to recreate it ever since.. for less.S&G GLOW ALL OUT URBAN DECAY CHILL PRIMERMy current favourite is Solar Powder from Soap & Glory, a two in one bronze and glow that's not too dark so perfect for warming up my paler complexion but warm enough to still add something when I'm a little tanned. I've been trialling primers and setting sprays to find the ultimate oil control alongside my shimmer and I'm really enjoying Urban Decay 'Chill'. I will be following up with a run down of hits and misses I think but Chill is refreshing, it's supposed to control your temperature as well as help makeup stay put and it more hydrating than others. It's the winner so far.S&G GLOW ALL OUT URBAN DECAY CHILL PRIMERA great tip someone gave me was to blot with a beauty blender after spritzing to prevent that shiny film that a setting spray often leaves behind. If you're normal or dry that may not be an issue but if you're oily the last thing you want is to START OFF looking 'dewy'. That being said I'm trying to embrace the non-matte look of late, I'm putting down the powders and looking for base products that last and set to a satin finish without any extra help. The more lines I see the more nervous of powder I am but it's an addiction! Is anyone else struggling to get out of the powder trap in their 30s?
