Stop & Smell The Roses
As my son would say, OH. MY. GOODNESS. How pretty are these? I've had them for a little while now (in fact a ran a giveaway on my YouTube channel and the winner already has hers, it's been that long) so I thought it was about time I got around to posting about them here. They're from Milani which in the UK is available from Beauty Crowd. There's a limited range but what I've tried so far (both from there and my shopping trips across the pond) I've really liked. First up the Rose Powder Blush (what really won me over) is totally matte and the shade I have, Tea Rose gives a really natural flushed pink look. Day to day I like to wear pretty neutral colours (I know my hair betrays that statement but it's true) and this is definitely an everyday blush colour for me. It's not the worlds easiest to blend but it's tough to find matte finishes that are and as it's not super bold it's nothing I'd complain about. It's something you can build up rather than had to buff out.
The illuminating Face Powder I was a little wary of as because it looked really warm when it arrived and that's really not my scene. It DOES definitely have a golden sheen to it but again it's not super bold, almost just a wash of colour with a bit of shimmer to it that can add a bit of warmth to my pale complexion without looking like I've been tangoed. The colour I have is Amber Nectar and I would say anyone darker (even a little) than I am would probably use this more as a highlighter.. which given the name is probably it's actual purpose.
The thing with digging out old drafts to write up is that I always wish my hair was like it was then rather than now, haha.. although this was only a few weeks ago.. maybe I change my hair too often. Also I have no idea where than epic jumper is.. must have a rummage through my ironing pile! Anyway.. all in all really nicely packaged products at the higher end of the drugstore price range - but they're imports so you expect to pay a little extra. There's nothing I can think of that I've tried from Milani and not enjoyed using (although I do have a liquid liner to test out that looks a bit sketchy - the brush is jagged and I'm not sure if it's on purpose - wish me luck with that one!) so if you're looking to try a new brand I'd recommend it! - These baked blushes are really amazing actually.. probably why they're almost always sold out!
