I’ve been sharing daily outfits on instagram this year (sporadically) and it occurred to me that it may be fun to bring back the FACE of the day too. It will help me pull out som lesser used items, rotate my collection and maybe rediscover some old favourites along the way. I don’t love instagram for rewiews and information because it’s not really searchable (yet) so I’ve decided to add a post here for each video I post there as a reference. This way if you wonder ‘did Mikhila ever review X’ you can find out!
Today I’m wearing Collection Filter Finish - this was a product in regular rotation for a long time so it’s an old favourite really. I can’t for the life of me understand why people are still dropping the money on the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter when these dupes are around. The Pixi On The Glow Bronze is an easy one swipe product, perfect for travel but I think I mixed it up the bronze/blush they do cause I could definitely have done with a little extra colour alongside this. The Merit Minimalist Stick (in linen) was gifted to me by Alanna (very generous!!) and initially I used it a lot but I think it’s best use it for touch ups. A great thing to have in your handbag for long days/evenings. Benefit Gimme Brow - I’m playing around with brow products again since using Rapid Brow to grow mine out and cover the fading micro blading. It’s an oldie but a goodie. L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes disappointed me a bit. It’ used to me my very favourite mascara back in the day but it clumped and really didn’t give me the length I remember. I think I’ve been spoiled by the Lancome I’ve come to love. Finally the gloss..bit of a fail. I was once SO in to this milky pink gloss look but it totally washes me out. Because I have so little pigment to my bare lips, I really need a gloss that ADDS rather than takes away. Additionally, this is a really thick, sticky formula. That does leave behind a nice, balmy looking finish when it dries off a bit so I see the benefit but in this colour, it’s not for me. It’s also a tingly one but I didn’t see any plumping action.
And that’s today’s face! I think this could even be a good way of decluttering my makeup since I’m USING things rather than just picking them up and trying to remember if I like them. I’ll start a basket of ‘meh’ products (that gloss is going in) and perhaps a declutter video once in a while featuring all of the things I’m getting rid of could be useful by way of an ‘anti haul’.
